Can you close a thread without bumping it?

I have a couple of old threads I need to close and I see the "close thread" box but it looks like I have to post a reply to make that happen. I tried to do it by just editing the original post but it didn't work...

I think you have to hit Go Advanced and do it there!

YES Judy is correct, hit the go advanced drop down, and again scroll to the bottom of your posting, there should be a button there to check that says close thread. you can always just post a period. as context and close it then if needed.

Easier than that, go to the top of the page of your thread. There should be "administrative tools" and then "close this thread" (this is only for the marketplace area, any other place, you need admin/mods to close it)
