I've been wanting this one badly too but I refuse to pay over $100.. Well I just can't! I currently have all my traders and more bid in an auction on here but I doubt I'll win

I have contemplated the same exact thing. These prices are really getting me down. I just don't have the money to lay down $100 per pin. I even missed this one on a facebook group for pretty cheap... :/ It'll come in time. Hopefully the prices drop soon.

I do think is really steep but that dosent mean someday you wont get the pin at a lower price or through a trade.
There is no reason to give up pin trading because of seller on ebay.

I just don't think it's fair that as soon as it sold out there is like a 100% markup on it for the people who were unable to get it

Here's my perspective: On most occasions, I try not to purchase pins I'm looking for because for me, the hunt is the thrill in this hobby. It's what gets you the friendships, and what makes obtaining the pin so enjoyable!

On another note -- it's inevitable that the prices are going to be that high when people are buying them at that price. Also unfortunate for those who don't have the $, there will always be people who are able (and that's good for those people, because they've likely done something to put themselves in that position). It's just the name of the game, and the same happens in every hobby.

I hope you cheer up, enjoy Valentines Day, and continue to collect!! The chase makes it all the more worthwhile!!

It's very hard (and expensive) being an overseas collector. But if I can't get an expensive pin I'll just buy something cheaper just so I can get a pin fix. I have only just got a PODM of Tangled (there not exactly a new release) but I'm so excited to get it, it will have deffo been worthy of the wait!!

Have patience. It took me 13 years to get one of my Grail pins. Another option is switching to different characters. I'm lucky one of my main collections is Mickey. Everybody is trying to get rid of their fab5 pins so I find it very easy (and cheap) to expand my collection.

I wouldn't recommend leaving the hobby! I am definitely discouraged too. I love Frozen so very much, and so far I have two pins thanks to two amazing people. I fear I'll never be able to get the others I want like the stained glass elsa, marquee and the anna and elsa dsf pin! Even the Olaf opening day! The prices are insane and as a teen I really can't spend so much on pins at the drop of a hat or a DSF flyer in this case. :/ I haven't gotten any pins in a while and I haven't bought any in a long time. They really are getting super expensive, and I keep watching pins I love being released and being unable to get them. :/ Not to mention parents thinking you're insane for wanting to buy an $100 pin!

Hopefully the prices come down eventually for us all.

There are lots of nice pins out there to collect. The hot pins of the moment are always going to be expensive, but hopefully you can find some other pins to collect. And keep the hunt on for the grails!

Frustrated...

Let's all be honest for a second, the only reason why these prices( on all pins) have driven up is because of the buyers. Who spend the 100s of dollars on them. It is sad to see pins go from 12.95 to 76 is an hour later. Just my two cents.

I have been there. However, I have found that everyone once in a while, a good pin will pop up at a decent price. Just keep checking.

I hope you're not angry with me about the auction, jazzy I'm not selling mine for ridiculous prices ! Or selling them at all.

Echo, you are a sweetie, I am not angry at you. In fact, I'm not angry at all. I was depressed at the prices on the auction site, but I'm feeling better now.

Thank you everyone for your comments. It helps me see a different perspective on the situation. I do enjoy looking at my collection of sparkling pins so I'll stay awhile

If you collect a hot character you need to expect prices to be unreal. They are a hot character for a reason. If you don't like the prices for the hot character find another character.

This is why I am considering collecting Tigger or Winnie the Pooh or Cinderella

I understand prices going up $50 even $80 for Frozen and Tangled pins, but a steep jump to 140-170. These Cast Members are making huge profits when buying at $15.

Yeah it sucks so much sometimes when pretty pins come out and they go to super high prices! It's why I decided to collect all the princesses cause it means I can fill my pin fix pretty easily because there's SO many princess pins hehe!

Hey we gotta earn a living wage some how
joking joking.... but I hope to use my extra one to get another higher price frozen or tangled pin because like you said, I can't pay THOSE prices either, gotta get a leg up somewhere

What's hot tends to change as more Disney movies/characters are introduced. I've been pin trading for a long time and I just recently bought a grail pin for $40 :0) One that I thought I'd never own because in its heyday it was easily $100- $150. But everyone is so busy chasing Tangled and Frozen that some of the characters I collect are actually going down in price, making them more affordable for me to own. So I'm happy.

The Valentines pin is huge and it looks pretty and its LE250... kind of a deadly combo!

There are some pricey Cinderella pins. She is my newest collection. I collect Snow White and the majority of those pins aren't that expensive. Granted, I have some grails I'll never afford. I'd have to work for almost a week to afford a few of the pins I'd want.

I wanted to collect Tangled but the prices for those pins scare me. The compact pin and Reveal Conceal Rapunzel are the same price as my tuition. It is scary how expensive those pins are.
