So, my sister and I were at Epcot this afternoon (5/10) looking at pins at the Pin Trading booth behind Spaceship Earth. One of the Cast Members had taken out a few of the drawers of pins that is under the display and was telling another CM that there was bags of old pins that had I guess fallen behind the drawer and no one realized it. She said they were from like 2005 but she was handling them like it was something dangerous and she didn't want to touch the old bags of pins for some reason. It didn't look like there was anything on the old bags but it was very interesting to witness her find. I wonder what pins were in the bags.

you have to love it when this happens. I was at the WOD in DTD one time and had the same kind of thing happen. Makes me wonder how many cool pins are in shops all over DLR and WDW that no one knows about.

It probably depends. Were these pins that were for sale, or for refreshing lanyards? If they were for refreshing, they would probably end up using them for refreshing once someone gave the okay. If they were for sale, they would no longer be in the computer, so they wouldn't be able to sell them in the shop like normal. They would be be sent somewhere. The usual place is Cast Connection, but with them being so old they may put them in the Property Control section (I've found an old cruise pin for sale back there, and earlier this year they were selling Magic Delivery pins from 2000 & 2001 back there). Or who knows.

They were taking then from drawers with pins that looked like they would be used to restock the shelves. So pins that are for sale. But as mentioned they most likely aren't still in the system and may be sold later on somewhere.

They're about 670 pins to choose from if the information is correct.

Which bag of pins would you like it to have been?

I would like it to have been - Pin 36418: WDW - Piece of Disney History 2005 (Tower of Terror)

A: the CM in question probably would have to tell the Coordinator or Manager. Probably going to a long spiel of how were they found, why did no find it before, etc which may cause them to be wrote up. B: As they're probably no longer in the computer/long been marked absent in an inventory check. "They'd probably go to the higher ups where it would be put in: Pin Replenishment, Trade Boards, or Sold at Cast Connection under the Property Control. That reminds me of the DA pins that were being sold for $5 a piece there, should have got them when I had the chance.
