Cleaning up after my week long excursion down in FL... I spent about a half a day in each of the 4 parks, a few hours at Downtown Disney and several stops at hotels. I traded for a total of 74 pins. They broke down: 36 2012 WDW HM pins, 2 HM completer pins (current PWP), the set of 8 PWP lanyard promo pins and these 28 other pins.

As you can see, most were from booster/starter lanyard/mini pin sets, as well as some of the mystery pack pins. A few gems in a 2000 Happy New Year pin, a UK DS CM pin, a CM lanyard series 2 Aurora, and a game pin from TDS.

Earlier in the year, my Dad had been having trouble finding the 2012 HM pins. He tries to collect 3 sets: one for him, one for me, and one for another pin friend. He had only managed to find about 2/3rds of his set, and only 10 pins for mine, and 2 for our friend. Over the course of the week, I got down to only needing the Piglet pin, my Dad needs 2 and our friend's set needs 6. My Dad said they were much more plentiful than what he had been running into. I wondered if there was a monthly allotment, and since it was the end of the month, they weren't being quite so stingy with them. We had the best luck finding HM pins on manager lanyards, and the people working in the areas around the turnstyles, including janitors. The deeper we got into the parks, the fewer we found. Near the end of the trip, we found a few at resort shops, but they were sparse early on.

What's the Mater pin? I'm pretty new but looking at starting with Cars so i'd like to know more abuot whats out there. Good collection of pins though, especially the 2000 one!

I'm going to WDW in October but slightly worried about authentic pins on CM lanyards, how many aren't...?

[pinpics]68497[/pinpics] is Hopemax's pin. It's from a starter set first released in 2009.

The Pinpics listing for the whole starter set is [pinpics]68493[/pinpics].

If you are interested in possibly collecting Cars pins, may I offer you a link to my Cars Pinpics group, which lists all of the Cars pins that are out there? It is a private group that I created, because the public one had not been updated in six years.

By browsing through this group, you will get a good idea of what type of pins you can look forward to collecting. I suggest that you consider the LE sizes and Trades/Wants ratios of the pins you would most likely be interested in. If you decide to go ahead with this theme, you can also add pins directly to your wants list from the group.

Here's the link to that group: http://pinpics.com/cgi-bin/group.cgi?group=5781

Hey thanks:) I'd seen the public group but it was out of date like you say. Sorry I feel like I've derailed the topic I'll pm you about something PixarPerils.

Hopemax, how hard are authentic pins to find from CM lanyards...?

Pretty hard. Especially, if you are looking for something other than the most current Hidden Mickey pins. It's very depressing. That batch of pins I posted, I might have found in one day in the early years of pin trading. But it took all week to find so few. There were also quite a few of the Carrefour pins from France. I only traded for the Timothy, because he was the only one of my characters I found. But I saw quite a few Pixar character ones. They are small, and on the cheap side so they won't be popular with a lot of people. But if you find one with your character, then it might satisfy you.
