Cleaning up after my week long excursion down in FL... I spent about a half a day in each of the 4 parks, a few hours at Downtown Disney and several stops at hotels. I traded for a total of 74 pins. They broke down: 36 2012 WDW HM pins, 2 HM completer pins (current PWP), the set of 8 PWP lanyard promo pins and these 28 other pins.
As you can see, most were from booster/starter lanyard/mini pin sets, as well as some of the mystery pack pins. A few gems in a 2000 Happy New Year pin, a UK DS CM pin, a CM lanyard series 2 Aurora, and a game pin from TDS.
Earlier in the year, my Dad had been having trouble finding the 2012 HM pins. He tries to collect 3 sets: one for him, one for me, and one for another pin friend. He had only managed to find about 2/3rds of his set, and only 10 pins for mine, and 2 for our friend. Over the course of the week, I got down to only needing the Piglet pin, my Dad needs 2 and our friend's set needs 6. My Dad said they were much more plentiful than what he had been running into. I wondered if there was a monthly allotment, and since it was the end of the month, they weren't being quite so stingy with them. We had the best luck finding HM pins on manager lanyards, and the people working in the areas around the turnstyles, including janitors. The deeper we got into the parks, the fewer we found. Near the end of the trip, we found a few at resort shops, but they were sparse early on.
