Come out and Trade ending?

Come Out and Trade is when the CMs come out with books. The tables are still there for traders, I believe.

They are probably sick of ending the day with a book full of scrappers. I think it serves those people right... Same faces with their bags full of junk, trading for good pins that they then flip for cash, or legitimate trades. It sucks that it ruins it for everyone else, but I understand this move if scrappers are the reason.

If the hiatus is because of the amount of scrappers they were getting, it is Disney's own fault for allowing that many scrapers to enter the world of pin trading to begin with.

While company hiatus have a nasty habit of becoming permanent, there can be several potential POSITIVE outcomes from changes as well.

Several Disneyland merchandise locations already have small pin boards that are available during the day for trading. You need only ask to see them when a cast member is not busy working the till. With come out to trade down, they may have a few more of these on location in the park.

They may also be looking for a new / better location to conduct the Come out and Trade events. With the Frontierland / Westward Ho barrels nearly always occupied, the park may be looking for a greener pasture to conduct future trades. And I can instantly think of 4 locations for a more permanent trade area could be established - the vacant storage space above Star Arcade comes quickly to mind, as the the covered pier between Autopia and Small world, the Frontierland area near the "Paymaster" - just across from Westward Ho, and the small gathering space next to the Hat shop in Tomorrowland.

And they may really be planning a special event for Spring / Summer. After all they're going to be heavily promoting the new "improved" DCA. They may just move the come out an trade events next door. Or could be returning an event like the Pirate Pin trading, "you wagered 1 pin and picked the treasure chest" Lucky winners got a 2 pins back in return (gold coin pin and random pin), even "losers" got a pin back based one what a prior trader had placed inside when they took their turn.

I do agree the traffic and the location of it was a nightmare. Lines out into the walk way long before the books came out just created a mess in the flow of the area.

This was one of my favorite things ever! I wish they would bring something like this back!

Awe. Those good days are gone.

They should look at the area located near the Big Thunder Fast Pass machines - they had the Pirate Treasure Chest mystery game there a few years ago - it would be a nice spot to shuttle all the traders over to.

Ok so heres what i got yesterday the tables will stay and everyone can come trade as normal just only the cast members with the books will no longer be coming out from the 1 to 3 times there going to pin boards for the time being but disney has plans in the works for something new with pin trading to make the experience funnier. the cast remember i talked to is a huge pin guy.. and he was kinda saying theres going to be hidden places where theres going to be huge lots of pins on pin board cast members and books
