I have noticed a lot of "discussion" in a lot of the recent sales and auction threads, in some cases almost like spam. I mean, it is one thing to ask a question like "Is it on it's card", etc, but I am also seeing auction bids of food, people starting arguments about the prices others are selling certain pins for, or even heated exchanges over prices of pre-selling them. I really think we should start limiting what is posted in sales/auction threads to pertinent posts, such as questions about the items, reserving items, bidding, etc, not opinions or discussions as to what people are selling (and the prices) or what people are bidding, etc.

Another thing I have noticed is multiple SALES threads from the same individuals running at the same time. I believe you are allowed a maximum of 2 threads (sales and wanted) per the rules at any one time.

IMO, having 2+ SALES threads running at the same time that could be merged into one, especially if you are bumping all the threads at one time, will allow for other users to have their threads in the front in more of a rotation. Less active threads means less of a strain on the bandwidth, and more access for everyone

hi bill,

I agree about the abusive use of "conversation within a auction or sales thread" while the DPF rules do state that any active thread is not to be bumped, some folks do not see it that way, SOOO be prepared to see alot more GREEN text <my color for being official moderator as opposed to just lucan444 pin trader>
The overuse of commentary has become almost epidemic in some threads, and those who continue to violate the rules of DPF will be recieving infraction notices and bannings if needed. Violation of the DPF Forum rules is not arbitrary, everyone must follow them.
We are all supposed to be adults on this site, the rules were written to allow EVERYONE to participate, without having to go through 3 back to back post by the OP, or every other bid or comment being commented on by the OP. If the small number of individuals who refuse to listen to or follow the rules do not, then they will find themselves being given the corresponding "slap on the wrist".

I say this for two reasons, one of which you are correct to point out, IT EATS UP SERVER SPACE AND CONTINUES TO ADD TO THE CRASHES.
Every action on the site, causes the servers to work, unneeded or unwarranted postings are the primary cause for this, with almost 9000 members if each of us posted just once a day it would crash the server almost constantly, so if the same user posts, 15 to 30 times a day, ON ONE thread, imagine the strain.!!!!

Please please please, use common sense in auction and sales, if you need a thread merged or deleted ask one of us on Staff, we may not get to it within 10 min but it will get done, <we have lives to you know> The cost of this site is free, but the cost of being a member is being one who follows the rules.

+ 1 on all the points in this thread

...and just one more point, although this may not be covered by the rules: when the title of a thread is changed to add 'more pins added', 'new traders', 'prices reduced', etc, it would be nice if that note included the date (otherwise, you see threads saying 'more pins added' when the last time pins were added was a week ago)
