D23 Expo
Cut and do not look back...you may get hit in the head by something or someone be careful people...

I don't think I'll be hoping to get pins or exclusive merchandise at the expo. I want to try and see events, cosplay with my friends, and just have a fun time in general. The line cutting and fighting over merchandise sounds like it'd be a real downer.

Haha yes definitely! I almost forgot about our awesome meet up. I'll definitely message you once the expo comes closer

I probably should renew my membership to gold to make sure I could get any first priorities as possible during the expo.

Sweeeet! It will be awesome! Yes, get your membership renewed. I did mine last month to make sure
Anyone else want to meet up with us? Im hoping to get some peeps together to walk to the convention centre early in the morning on the first day so I dont walk all alone lol!

Once you get there, you will definitely not be alone.

Yes, but do not expect it until a couple of weeks before The Expo at the earliest, and there will likely be some sneak peeks posted several weeks before that.

Ok, thanks! At this point I'm willing to wait until it's posted to get my pass. Most of my con money this year is going to Comic Con, so I will probably only be able to afford to go one day, and I'd rather wait to see which day has the most stuff I'll be interested in (panels and activities-wise; I'm not banking on getting any merchandise while I'm there unless it's OE or leftover LE).

I have a Sorcerer ticket for 2015 and I also had it for 2013. I can tell you right now that even the Sorcerers are competing against each other. My wife and I were able to get a princess pin set each on the first day (Sorcerer's get an extra shopping day on Thursday, along with a behind the scenes tour, and a bunch of other neat stuff), but when we were in line the second day (which is Friday, the first official day for normal guests) only half the Sorcerer's got them.... they ran out of wristbands before they even got to my wife and I.

What I am trying to say is that if you are a regular guest, MOST of the super exclusive stuff like pin sets and limited Funko Pop and princess stuff (like Art of Ariel for example) will be gone before you even get in the door. Stuff was flying off the shelves like crazy in the WDI pop-up shop as well.

In 2013,
Sorcerer's got RSP (Random Selection Purchase) at the Dream Store weeks before. Then, we got Thursday shopping in the Dream Store and the Disney Store. For 2015 we get all that AND they are adding a pre-shopping day at the WDI Mickey's of Glendale Pop-up shop too.

I'm being 100% honest here: If if wasn't for the
Sorcerer's ticket, I would not go to the D23 Expo. It's that valuable for me and worth the money. Without it, things are just too insane to do any of the stuff people REALLY want to do... shop and see the amazing presentations with previews of movies, celebrities, and park announcements. Lines lines lines lines lines. Worse than the worst day at Disneyland.

Sorry for my repeat question but I didn't get an answer Do tickets to the expo tend to sell out or are they usually still in stock to buy at the door or at least a few weeks prior? I wanted to wait until late June to get tickets to make sure I will be here in August since the tickets aren't refundable and I'm waiting on work. I'd love to go and meet fellow DPF members and fans!

Also, I'll be at Wondercon and SDCC if anyone wants to meet up or knows of any fun events at those cons!

There's a whole group of us coming over from Europe!!! We will all be in costume ^_^ so you will be able to spot us a mile off!!

From what I saw in 2013 there was people buying tickets at the door. Disney does this trick where they increase the price of the ticket as it gets closer to the event date so that is why you are seeing people saying they got their tickets already as we wanted to pay the cheapest price possible and save money for buying stuff

I'm going with the same attitude. While it will be great if I do get sweet merch, I'm not going to be holding my breath. Really looking forward to the event itself and meeting the people I've only chatted with online before.

Most major conventions and expos give ticket discounts for those who buy their tickets early. Think of all the events who charge MORE for buying tickets at the door. IMO, Disney is just following accepted practices.
