Is there a way to toggle back to light background? I normally like dark background, but the contrast for bold/not bold for me to see unread vs read is not enough, so I’d rather my view to be light background. I searched a little bit but admittedly not too deep to find the answer.

If you are on an iPhone go to
1. Settings
2.displays & brightness
3. Select light
3a. You can use the slider to adjust how bright you want the screen.

Are you guys talking about different things. I don't use "dark mode" but is it something that websites can load automatically, dependent on your browser or phone settings, or is it something you have to set on each website? Last I new, it was a toggle on each website. I know @Cicada has been working on it, and obviously other people are using it, but did you have to turn it on for DPF?

Hey; dark mode on DPF is still a work in progress (which is why it hasn’t been announced yet), but in the meantime, to toggle between light/dark, the cog ⚙️ at the bottom of the page should allow you to switch between “Dark”, “Light” and “system”, which follows whatever your OS theme is using.

Here’s a screenshot from mobile (which I’m using now), but desktop should be similar:
