Dear Disney Pin "Powers That Be,"

  • The DSF releases are nuts, bringing LE pins back to ds.com regularly will reduce the DSF craze but still make you tonns of money. The camp-outs wouldn't be so nuts if DSF had some competition.
  • I think that you would make a TONN of money if you released a basic LE pin every 2 weeks on DS.com like you do with the DSUK site. Not these 5 pin LE sets, but one at a time every 2 weeks.
  • Bringing back the PoDM, (theres a rumor you are going to) might not be a good idea. You can, but if you do... Chances are you ill increase the price and edition size. but I think it will just make people crazy and camp out at the parks again anyway.
  • We need more designer sets like the DP's and DV's.... But increase the edition size to like 300 just for fun.
  • LE's in the park are nice, but all these ones with dates on them were a big mistake. The big "2013" ones you are doing monthly are ugly. Even the CM's are predicting that those pins will be available months from now.


What would you suggest to Disney Pin People if you could face to face, have a relaxed conversation?
 
Start making more obscure character pins. You have virtually an infinite amount of characters and characters combos, i.e. Scrooge McDuck, or Scrooge w/ Ducktales cast, etc. Every other pin does not have to be Stitch or a Princess. Appeal to those niche collectors who might do that unique character every now and then.

PODM's would be nice again, but honestly I think it will just attract more attention from profiteers that care nothing about pins but all about making non-reportable income. Also, the LE's with dates may not sell to us, but tourists love them because they lock in the year and the memory of their trip which may only happen a handful of times in their life. Designer pins would be nice, what happened to featured artists? More princess LE pins at the park, we haven't had many lately! All OE poor quality, We can't even keep up with DLRP's princess pins here.
 
I would say,"Quit making these pins with rubber and that shiny plastic that scratches. Stick to the metal pins with gold inlay. To me, they are so much nicer. Why are the Paris pins so gorgeous compared to the ones at Disneyland?"
 
If you can scrutinize over characters (hand drawn or made on the computer, both take a lot of work and talent in my opinion) then you put a little more effort into your pin artwork. Mostly referring to rack pins. For example, if you're going to charge me $20 just for the chance to get a Rapunzel carousel pin (which most likely I won't get from the first bought box)... is it too much to ask that you make it look like the character you're claiming it is? I know you have to convert her from a 3D to 2D image but still. And it's not just her, there are plenty of other examples. Wrong colors (especially in eyes) wrong spelling, etc... I thought something that set Disney apart was its attention to detail. This theory didn't quite get through to the Disney pin design department.
 
When can we get character pins that stop looking like older version of pins? We need a baby Rapunzel pin!

PS: Can Stitch somehow invade some of the newer movies that have come out? I kind of need him to so I can add to my collection!

+1 Completely agree! They could have even tied a release into the Limited Time Magic Remembering Old Friends Week. (For those who can make it to DLR, this is going on now!) And if they are concerned about sales, just make them a lower LE. I would really love to see more recent stand-alones of those characters.

+1 I was just thinking about this the other day. I just don't want anything to do with Free-D pins anymore. It either falls off, corrodes and breaks down over time, or gets dirty. When they put it on an LE it kinda makes it look slap-dash and distracting. For instance, why is the DSF Fix-it Felix's hat Free-D? I could kind of understand if they made his hammer that way, since it was a focal item in the movie. Did I miss something crucial plot-wise about the hat?

I would like to add: Please pin designers, when you are copying a character pose from a movie, make sure it's a Keyframe and not a Tween frame that the character is distorted in.

Another good pin opportunity would be Mim's and Merlin's characters in the wizard's duel. Just sayin...hint hint wink wink


 
Pixie, 100000+ everything you said, especially in bringing back the Ds.com pins. I miss those pins, but NOT the 110th legacy series. Overpriced and small.
