Disney Fairytale Designer Collection - Heroes & villains collection 2016
At this point, I just want to see new characters details and esthetically appealing dolls. I don't want Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel and although I love Frozen I do not wish to see anymore Frozen dolls. I know Helena is not part of the line-up but I think she would make a great set along all the other less popular characters mentioned in previous posts. I want something new and original that they won't copy 15 times and I want to see details. Some of the sets they released look terribly plain and cheap...i wouldn't mind paying more for something that is better quality and would probably prefer if they lowered the edition size.

But i don't know much about marketing. In the end they'll probably want to continue down the line with characters that guarantee them profits as unfortunate as it may sound for a lot of people.

you mean elena of avalor right? Shes to be included as one of the disney princess but im not sure when they are gonna make an LE doll of her. That will be great if they did. I totally agree about lowering the edition size. There is something appealing in knowing you have a doll that only a thousand own or something

I wouldn't buy a designer wedding set personally. I would love to the fairies completed! And 2nd on another single designer villains collection. I think one issue too is the redesigns really aren't such huge departures from their classic outfits. a little pattern here, some embroidery there splash gems on it and call it a day. I believe the first wave princesses were such a hit because for the most part the out fits were all pretty different from their original dress poca and ariel for example. If they could do something like that again with the villains fairies and princesses even and really make it designer im sure it would revive the line back up to that level of hysteria it was on year 1. and of course Merida never got the designer treatment and I was expecting an Elsa and Anna single designer. I hope the trend of doing skipped characters for the 17" dolls continues too. DO YOU HEAR ME DISNEY PLEASE MAKE OUR EVIL QUEEN AND PRINCE! I'd still like to know wth they didnt give snow white at least a snow globe this go around. the way they answer questions and have acted on other things makes me think maybe theyll leave it as is and not make anything for snow white. anyway just my thoughts.

I agree with the concept of a Heroines line. I think it would benefit pretty much everyone. Disney could market characters like Anna and Elsa, Merida could finally get the designer treatment, and we could get at least one new character for the doll line (the most likely candidates are probably Esmeralda and Megara). This year and last year has proven to me that Disney is willing to break out of their comfort zone at least a little bit, but how far they are willing to go remains to be seen. They are more likely to stick to characters they know will sell, which means the same princesses over and over again. One reason I am excited for the Moana doll is because its actually a NEW character with a brand new mold and everything. My love for these dolls and their craftsmanship can only last for so long before I get bored of seeing the same stuff done over and over again.

Anyone have the UK release dates for the designer collection? I can't seem to find the link on the UK DisneyStore.

I know it would be redundant but I would LOVE a wedding set! I need a Belle/Prince set! I would love to see Belle in her wedding dress. I also LOVE Punzie and Eugene! Even though I have Wedding Rapunzel already, I would love a Eugene. He would look so fancy in his wedding attire next to my DFDC Punzie and Eugene.

It would be a nice designer line to have individual characters in their wedding gowns / suit...that would be a great idea for their next designer dolls

Yes! They could even make it modern like the first Designers! Although I don't mind the fairytale type design, I just feel like Disney's been there...done that...

well this would be a little different from that. Its not a couple wedding but our individual princesses in their bridal gown not necessarily based on their animation. Disney can collaborate too with celebrity designers such as monique lhuillier, etc. My idea can be extravagant and involves lots of work because I bet making a singular wedding gown can be expensive.of course they can base the gowns with the personality of each princesses. i see wedding gowns based on disney princess so why not make dolls with their created wedding gowns? I will sure love this idea!

I agree that we need some new characters. Since this collection began we've had the same group of characters and changing of themes. We've only gotten a few new characters here and there like Hook, Cruella, Queen of Hearts, The Witch. I would love for them to go back to the original 2011 concept with different characters. Designer Bride collection is something people wanted also but maybe only one doll in the case again so there's room and it brings down cost, and I think it doesn't Need to be a character we see or know is married, but the character wearing what her designer wedding dress might look like. They will sell if they look amazing enough.

totally agree about the wedding theme that will include unmarried character. That will be cool. And they dont need to release 4 or 5 in a set..maybe one character every 6 mos or so. This way, people are able to save up their money. Because when theres too much release people will have to choose what they like best to put their money on.

I'm in the UK, I wasn't going to get the Cinderella set, but I went online at lunch time and it was still there, I went for it because it was the one I liked second best, but how was the store sales today?

i thought it was only store release today and online tomorrow in the UK?

I got my set today! It was such an easy release. I was literally the only one who showed up for the dolls.

That's awesome! It seems like its been a really relaxed and laid back release pretty much everywhere. I have a feeling all of these dolls are gonna be easy to get at least when compared to other years. Makes me feel a bit relieved for whenever I go to get the Alice set.

All our releases in the UK happen at the same time which is daft. I'm much rather have them split over two days for a better chance! Been very quiet here though so hopefully everyone got hold of this set today.

Got my Cinderella set today! easy as cake and pie! no competition just how I like it. glad I didn't get the pre-order no wait!

Sounds like today went rather smoothly... which is both a good and bad thing. If these dolls don't do well, those rumors for next year's Designer line probably won't matter, especially if the sets that Disney feels are their guaranteed successes (Cinderella/Tremaine, Belle/Gaston, and Aurora/Maleficent) don't sell out. I mean, they've all ready got us questioning if they're even releasing the merchandise that goes with this line. Discontinuing the line all together wouldn't be that far-fetched.

Still, congratulations to those who got the dolls they wanted today!
