Yay! Finally some news/confirmation it is happening. And they moved it to Coronado! Finally! No need to pay for a park ticket. Great news. But they also cut it back to just one day. :( Talk about a mixed bag of news. Maybe last one and they are just having it because they announced it last year?

With the staff cutbacks, I would theorize its more about staffing and keeping it simple. And also an attempt to attract more event attendees to sell more pins.

As I recall, preregistration and PTN always was at a resort, most recently Coronado Springs, but it has been at Yacht & Beach in the past, with the event itself in EPCOT. Whatever wasn't picked up during preregistration had to be transported over to the event in EPCOT - and, of course, not every event guest attended preregistration for various reasons. So maybe this is an attempt to streamline things by keeping the event (and the merchandise) in one location?

I can see pros and cons to keeping the event in a resort vs. EPCOT. I would think the biggest advantages of a resort-centric event should include not requiring theme park admission and reservations (although I would think an EPCOT reservation would be included with purchase of a ticket), not having to drag your pins through the park during the hottest part of the year (I always hated that), and if you stay at the hosting resort, a short commute between your room and the event.

I honestly don't mind it being at Coronado, but I am quite sad about the cut down days. Pin trading was the main reason to go to the event for me, not the catalogue. I don't want less time. ):

I do hope that the pin boards will be better this year though if that's the case. It's ridiculous that they were struggling to come up with anything good to put on them with the hundreds of thousands of pins they've created and extras they probably have sitting in boxes somewhere.

Agree with your first paragraph. And that the boards can be pretty lame sometimes. But I do feel that they did a good job with last year's boards. They seemed to refresh them much more regularly/frequently. And I liked that they switched on the second day to allow three trades at a time rather than the usual two. I got a lot of pins off the boards and I believe every one of them was an AP/PP. I figured that, since we hadn't been in person the prior years, they had a lot of "extra" AP/PP pins and, unfortunately, that might have been a one-off years. But fingers crossed it's the new normal!

The second day was much better! But the first day I noticed that, especially for the small boards, it was sometimes upwards of two hours before they refreshed them. It feels a bit weird for them to not be refreshing boards that only have 12 pins on them each for that long during a pin trading event. I also got pins I liked, but not necessarily pins that were HTF/rare. It might just be me as someone who doesn't collect APs/PPs! I might also have had weird expectations from my first event in 2019 lol.

I'm excited regardless! Just hoping that they will either lower the cost or make up for lost time with the cut day. Much happier that the event is at Coronado though. That means there should be space and seats for everyone, because their conference center is huge.

In love with the pin designs! And excited for the lack of pin tabs, but unless they up the quantity, quality and amount of pins and pin boards available, this could also be a disaster.

Not a fan of the price tag but if the trading turns out okay I can shrug it off.

Now THAT is a proper DISNEY pin event catalog! A great selection of princesses, villains, sidekicks. A wide range of POPULAR movies. Disney-focused instead of Star Wars/Marvel/Muppets/Fox/Nat Geo. Not overly high or overly small edition sizes.

WELL DONE DISNEY PIN TEAM!!!

(I won't get into the cost issue.)
Ngl, I would really like some more Nat Geo pins though. The first cheetah LE they released was beautiful and I've been waiting for more in a similar style.

(What's this!?! Merlin coming in out of nowhere!?)

I love this catalog. :)

Not overly pumped that my two Merlin pins are in box sets, hahah! But I think this is one of the strongest catalogs I've seen since I've been doing events. <3 We will definitely be there! <3
Welcome Back!

Whereas the majority of my collections run a little more obscure and so this catalog has exactly ZERO pins I need! I'm happy for those who have lots of interest in them though, and my wallet sure is happy!

If anyone is going but not wanting all the pins I will be looking for item #9 castle with chip and dale and item #22 because of that adorable Olaf! Trade or buy.

My grail item #33 I want more than anything but cant affor it right now :( But if anyone is up for a trade I have some grail worthy traders. Or even a part trade part money. Let me know!
