Hi, I am going to CA to see a friend next week and we are stopping in at DSF on Wednesday the 5th. Is there anything I should know? Buy? Eat? I'm so excited!

Skip out on all the extra stuff (cream/marshmallows?) that comes with the pin trader's delight and just get the ice cream AND of course, as mentioned, the free pin

It's not a pin traders delight if you skip the marshmellows and sprinkles and stuff D,:

And the food is great.

It's small, more like a tiny diner and gift shop more then anything else, but I think if you buy a few pins (On the gift shop side), have a little lunch, enjoy your purchase and then top it off with ice cream you're good to go.

You guys are nuts. the marshmallow cream on the icecream sundae is AWESOME!!!!!!

definatly get the PTD sundae.
The food is ok, but not crazy good, so you can eat someplace else before the icescream. the mall across the street has some great food joints.

They always have a rack of pins for sale, sometimes cool stuff, sometimes stuff that just never sells. but always there.... they got rid of the $5.00 bin didnt they?

Thanks all! She is picking me up in Burbank and we are going to lunch at Dukes in Malibu. Then she is taking me on the tourist trail on Hollywood Blvd to see the starts and the Chinese Theater. I did a little looking and saw that the Disney Soda Fountain was right there. I think we'll do dessert. AND I LOVE MARSHMALLOWS! Yay Marshmallows! So I will eat, get a sundae pin, and look for other pins!

Thursday is Disney DAY! I am thrilled- my friend - not so much. I am going to hope that Pluto's Christmas is available at 1PM - just like Lonesome Ghosts.

Then on Friday, we are going to the Getty and maybe doing a tour of the Stars homes! I can't wait!

THanks for all the input and marshmallow bantering!

Oh - Psycho Pixie - I love your picture of the deer! My dad is a hunter and there were many times when that was what we'd see in the garage in winter!

Go across the street at the mall. Go to the visitor's center and get some card (forgot what it was called) that gives you 10% off the food (not merchandise). Since the PTD is the sundae with a free pin, you get 10% off the sundae.

Elephant card

Also, if you're going to Dukes. Then you should make your way down PCH to Sunset and scoot over to DSF that way. You will go past UCLA, Bel Air, turn right at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Rodeo Drive to see the shops, then make your way back up to Sunset to see the nightlife spots like The Roxy.
Dining on the actual Hollywood strip isn't the greatest. There are a few little hidden gems but definetly Dukes is much better. There is one in Huntington Beach next to the pier also. If you have time after Hollywood downtown maybe go up and see Universal City Walk. It's pretty cool. Old Town Pasadena is another spot that is nice and is great for an evening stroll through shops and bistros. You can drive by the Rose Bowl and if you like acrhitecture I suggest a stop at the Gamble House in Pasadena.

Oh! If you park across the street you can get a validation so parking is only like 2-5$

If you don't like to walk, there's parking right around the corner from DSF and it's 2$ for every 15 minutes, but no more then 20$ a day. (I always have to park the expensive one because my grandma can't walk across that huge street in time!)
