Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2016
I'm not so excited for Moana, I like the classic doll better. It's so nice to see a doll with a different body and a planned Disney Princess with a sturdier body. But I actually have nothing aginst the others I just like variety.
I always wondered why Disney used a ribbon even with LE dolls and not the method you used for the decoration on the skirt. It looks pretty and so much closer to the original

Thanks, I agree that's the main thing that usually bugs me about Belle dolls. Use to be the widow peek but finally Disney got that right. --------- On another note I prefer the face of 2012 Singing Snow White over both LE faces. I prefer Snow and dolls with an open mouth/smile. I think it gives them a happy personality.

Sorry in advance but no time to go back through old posts. When is Moana doll due to be released?

Stay tuned for additional details.

I finally received my shanghai snow white from yoybuy..sigh..shes pretty but she didn't come in excellent condition. there were damage in her box and she was wobbling inside because her attachment was loose. I was able to fixed her but her box was hopeless.

The ones I've been reading about were seemed to be packed well (better than the Disney Store definitely) - I don't think the seller(s) know how to handle them D: Boxes torn apart, broken/cut ties, apparently dust everywhere... My personal theory is that in order to pick up so many dolls at once, they're just grabbing armfuls and shoving them wherever they'll fit in the car. I don't know what else would explain it.

The damaged ones all came from yoybuy which was not the direct buyer but more like a forwarding service. I talked to another Chinese seller and she thinks the initial seller must have gotten a discount buying the damaged boxes. I am guessing they never realized that people buy those to keep in the box so as long as the doll itself is in good condition they didn't care. Anyway yoybuy started asking for more money even after people had purchased their dolls. Sounds to me like the seller was trying to increase his profit margin after he realized it was a highly sought item.

Ah.

I figured there were a few non-direct sellers. Plus, until Shanghai DL started the season passes two weeks ago, one had to pay daily admission to get into the parks.

Did you get her for retail?
No. I got snow from a seller on taobao.com(pretty like Chinese Ebay) and I paid about 14% extra for her with free shipping. But it costs me about $260 to get Belle on EvilBay.

Do you know if that taobao was the same seller sending the dolls to yoybuy? If it was your doll is definitely in pristine condition and that would mean yoybuy messed up the dolls after they deboxed them to forward.

Definitely it has been an ordeal for people buying from yoybuy. Glad you got her at such a good price!

I'm not sure it's the same seller but there're many sellers on taobao selling the Snow. And youbuy may take her from any of them. I bought from a Golden Seller of taobao (kind of like Top Rated Seller on Ebay) and He or She packed it quite well and I post a package photo below for you to determine if it's the same seller.

I have no clue. I didn't buy from yoybuy or taobao because I don't understand or read Mandarin. I've got mine from Minka's Disney store and she is awesome! I've just been following people's posts on Facebook and it looks like it's been a real nightmare. Some people paid over 400$ usd and received damaged dolls.

Got it and Congrats you got your Snow too! I personally don't encourage anyone purchase from taobao without rich experience since risk of receiving damaged/fake items is much higher than EvilBay.

Moana - in case someone has not yet seen this phot of her The picture is from the Disney Store Facebooksite

I'm seriously disappointed that Disney muffed the facial expression on this doll. I liked the movie enough to consider breaking my "I AM NOT COLLECTING ANY MORE DOLLS" vow ... but personally I don't like the face at all. It doesn't do justice to the character; besides not being terribly appealing, I also think the smirk is not in keeping with her personality. Yes, she has moments of sass and spirit, but the expression on the doll looks downright unpleasant/b*tchy. Otherwise, I think it's a lovely depiction. But I don't buy pins with ugly faces and I can't bring myself to buy a doll (at greater cost) with an ugly face.

It reminds me of the face she made when she tricked Tafiti. That face screams 'I am Moana'. I like her and probably will get her.

She's a "for sure buy" from me and I haven't seen the film yet(I do have the soundtrack). Now to decide if I want do in store or buy online. Given that I do have class that night and possibly something that morning. Online looks like the winning option.
