Being a huge fan of the villains, I'm looking to expand my Disney Villain Doll collection. I already own the entire Designer Set (fabulous IMO) and know about the limited number of 17" dolls, but in terms of the Disney Store Classic Dolls who has been released? Obviously the well known Evil Queen, Maleficent, Ursula, Mother Gothel, etc, but who else? What about Mattel? I did see that Mattel has recently released the Evil Queen and Ursula; anyone who owns these dolls care to give feedback on them? Are they of good quality?

Any other Villain fans out here on the forum?

I can't say I have a favorite simply because I like them all a lot. Although my top two would have to be Cruella and Ursula.

I saw those recent mattel dolls of the villains and they look pretty okay, though I have passed on them.

I do hope to get an LE Designer Ursula sometime in the future!

I do love Ursula. She definitely one of my favorites; second only to Maleficent who is my all time favorite villain. I'm hoping to get the Limited Edition Ursula as well, but I'm saving up for the SQ Elsa since I missed her on her release. She is going to cost me an arm and a leg so I'm going to have to go to for the cheaper villain dolls for now.

SQ Elsa is going to cost more than an arm and leg hahaha! She's pricey

Luckily the villain dolls aren't as expensive, I prefer the designer Ursula over the Ursula released with LE Eric and Ariel!

I have only watched Sleeping Beauty once so I don't have a fondness towards Mal, D:

If you haven't got them I would recommend the Mattel Villain dolls from the great villains collection, they were made in the 90's but they still have the best version of Ursula and Maleficent in form IMO, they also did Cruella and the evil queen. I think a Jafar and Captain Hook was made aswell.

I don't have them, so thanks for the recommendation. I think the Disney store had a Classic Jafar, but are you saying Mattel did one too?

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to throw in a kidney as well! LOL But, unfortunately I have bad luck getting the Limited Edition dolls from the Disney store so if I want them I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pray I find one reasonable. I'm afraid that SQ Elsa is going to wind up like the LE Alice - scarce and requiring a 2nd mortgage to own. Alice is my grail and I came thisclose to parting with a good portion of my saving to buy her off a reseller on evil-bay only to have her disappear! Now I can't find her anywhere. So, yeah, I'm biding my time before I bite the bullet and pay an outrageous price for Elsa.

The Disney Store has made Classic dolls for: Queen Grimhilde (The Queen from Snow White), Maleficent, Ursula, Gaston, Jafar, and Mother Gothel. From the deluxe doll sets for Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, the Disney Store also made limited release dolls for Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, Drizella, and Vanessa (Ursula's human disguise). The Tremaines, Vanessa, Gaston, and Jafar are now currently not available and it is unknown if they will return for re-releases.

Mattel's Great Villains collection from the late 1990s, as mentioned by Matthewlondon are still among the most film-accurate doll versions of the animated versions of Maleficent, Queen Grimhilde (The Queen), and Ursula. This series also made two dolls based on the live-action version of 101 Dalmatians' Cruella de Vil (the Glenn Close version), which I do not like at all, though they really look like Glenn Close. I am a huge fan of the animated version of Cruella de Vil as designed by legendary animator Marc Davis.

The Disney Parks released a series of Disney Villain dolls that included: Queen Grimhilde (The Queen), Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Jafar. The Jafar doll from this series is fantastic, and the best doll version of him to date. The Cruella de Vil doll is far better than the Mattel Glenn Close versions from the Great Villains collection, but still could have been designed a tad bit better. If you have the option between these versions of Queen Grimhilde and Maleficent and the Great Villains versions, get the Great Villains versions.

I have not seen the new Mattel dolls for Queen Grimhilde or Ursula yet, but their faces do look better than the Disney Store Classic dolls.

^^ wow! That's a very detailed list! Thanks so much! Excited about the Gaston doll. He is pretty awesome. I do have the Vanessa doll and am actually thinking about buying a second one to make a "designer" version. I'm hopeing with Maleficent and the SB rerelease there is gong to be lots of Maleficent merch. Also headed to WDW in September so I'm hoping to find stuff there too.

Haha, yeah, I'd say there are a lot of villains fans on here.

It's the villains that sucked me into LE collecting. I passed on the first designer princess line, but those villains? I had to have them all.

Same with the LE heirloom dolls. Lady Tremaine broke the seal for me, and now I'm pretty hooked on that line as well. I'm a bit of a Disney Store snob, though, so I only buy their dolls and only LE or animators lines.

Oh, whoops! I forgot to mention that the Parks dolls were only made in the first decade of the 2000s, I think. They are definitely out of production now, and the Parks are actually not that great for finding Villains merchandise other than the occasional clothing item.

I am a Villain lover. Obviously, Maleficent is my favorite. When the Designer Villains came out I was so excited! I only bought the ones I liked: Maleficent, Evil Queen, and Mother Gothel. I have a corner of my "display room" that's all Maleficent. I have the Disney Parks Maleficent Doll and still want to track down a Maleficent Mattel one for hopefully less than $200.

Yay for villain fans! Boo for WDW not carrying a variety of villain stuff! I was hopeing since I was going to be there in September (the beginning of the halloween transformation) that I would luck out on villain stuff. Well at least I can take consolation in the fact that the villain collection will not be an expensive one.

I was excited for the designer stuff too! I hope they come out with another set. Maybe with the male villains like Gaston, Hans, hook, dr facilier (sp?)! Or even an animator line! I can just see our favorite villains in bratty toddler form!

I would totally buy Male Villains dolls. I would also buy a line of Princesses dressed as their Villains. There's a picture of that somewhere. I think that would be an amazing line

Did you mean this? This was one of my most favorite doll photo projects to date. I also swapped and put the Designer Villains in princess dresses (non-Designer outfits)... that was very weird. That was my April Fool's project last year.

Oh wow... That is awesome! I have seen the drawing or clip art (whatever you want to call it) lurking around, but your photo is much better. I love Ariel! But, yes, male villain dolls would be awesome. Even the other Villainesses like Yzma, Mim, Medusa, etc. Really anything else would be great!!

Ill have my first villain in my collection and its gaston! Cant wait to see him in person sept 20... I think he will be my last in the villain line though...
