Hello all,

In exactly 3 weeks today I will be in Disneyland Paris!!! I can't wait!!! The only problem, I have never been to Disneyland Paris and it isn't easy to find research on it. So I thought I'd ask you guys who have been there the tricks to the trade (pun intended :naughty:). So I was wondering a few things...

  1. Where do I go to get LE pins?
  2. What about OE pins?
  3. Is there multiple shops in both parks or just one?
  4. Do I need to know French to trade with the CM's?
  5. I know there isn't HM's there but what is the equivalent if there is one?
  6. Is it typically easy to trade with CM's and everyday guests?
  7. Can you trade HM's for the equivalent?

I'll probably have more questions but that's all I can think of right now. If you can help please do!

Things may have changed - I was there last May. :)

Here is based on my experiences:


  1. Where do I go to get LE pins? We actually really liked the cart at the end of Main Street and in the Disney Store at the front of Downtown Disney, but I'm guessing that best place is the Pueblo Trading Post. It is tucked away - we had to have a cast member direct us there and by the time we got there it was closed. :(
  2. What about OE pins? Same as LE - but I would probably add the store in Discoveryland. And the Emporium.
  3. Is there multiple shops in both parks or just one? Yes for Disneyland, I can only remember the one in the Studio park. But there are pin shops in all the hotels, and trading.
  4. Do I need to know French to trade with the CM's? We spoke English there and had no problem.
  5. I know there isn't HM's there but what is the equivalent if there is one? Cast lanyard/cocktail pins.
  6. Is it typically easy to trade with CM's and everyday guests? Yes with CMs, I'm not sure with guests.
  7. Can you trade HM's for the equivalent? Yes. And, if I remember correctly they did have an LE board outside Harringtons for LEs.

LE pins @ Harringtons on Main Street, and every shop has a glass frame behind the till with left over LE's.

Cm's are really easy to trade withs, and you don't only need to know French to do that.

OE's are everywhere. The park is filled with shops, every land has a good number of pins in their shops. Most shops are on Main Street and Fantasyland.
 
When you see someone with a lanyard, you can just walk up to them. Sometimes at the end of main street, traders are sat at the tables there.
And on Saturdays, at pueblo's.
 
It's worth looking in all the other stores for the leftover LE pins (there are multiple stores in both parks) and in Disney Village, when I was there I went into World of Disney (in Disney Village) and found one of the LE Dreams pin in the glass display case, when I asked a Cast Member for it they told me it was the last pin left in the park, it had just been forgotten because it was in the case! So it's worth looking in all the glass LE cases (most of them are behind the registers in the stores).
I was there during the week, no weekend days, so I didn't get to go to Pueblo post, but while I was there I saw no guests who had lanyards or were trying to trade. There are probably more traders out on weekends and pin release days, but the trading culture is a lot smaller there anyway.
 
It is not rare to see people with lanyards inside the parks, but usually, trades take place at the Pueblo Trading Post during week-ends. The Pueblo opens only at week-ends and mostly closes around 6.00 PM. There are less traders mondays to fridays, and like moorhunhe said, they are sit at tables on the end of Main Street. If you're still in DLP on 25th July, I would advise you to go the Pin Trading Night at the hotel Sequoia Lodge. There you can meet a lot of traders and make a lot of trades.
