DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Did anyone manage to buy a teal Jasmine from the UK Disney Store site? It is ridiculous how quickly she sold out; this was my first time trying to buy a doll from the UK store - was not fun. Think I will have to pay over the odds again and buy from Ebay :-(

Correction to my previous observation of Jasmine's veil - looking more at the uk pictures, there's a good chance her veil has simply been gathered on top of her head and could be let down by cutting the ties holding it there. Why Disney decided to box her that way I have no idea. But it also looks square in shape, so it'd be interesting to see just how it would drape when down.

Okay, I'm going to stop staring at dolls now and go to bed

Going to Disney store today was not fun at all. There were scalpers and they came as a group of 7 men and a woman. And there were only 11 Jasmine dolls available.
So getting her was close to impossible. Still I got Jafar and Tangled set. It is sad since there were some ladies with kids and they couldn't get anything. Wedding set looks very good in person but not 500£ good.

Are you in the UK? If so where is your local store? This collecting game is becoming so much harder these days.

I can only guess.....Disney watched wedding live action Cinderella go for 2,000 instantly after she sold out. So they were like let's up the Jasmine set a little more. Remember the villain designer dolls? They doubled the edition size to 13,000 and then up'd them all 20 bucks.

An extremely low edition size always drives people crazy...

I don't really understand how Disney thinks this set is worth 750$. The set looks okay, but it's lacking in detail; maybe it costs more for extra rhinestones, who knows. For a doll for that price, they could at least embroider Jasmine's outfit, if they can do it for a 100$ doll, then I'm pretty sure they could have done it for this one.

Well that was my point....I think Disney pays attention to what buyers do. When they see the immediate aftermarket of other low editions they offer selling for 5x the price - they probably can't help themselves. They up it a little each time.

Finally coming down from my Disney store hype. Very successful day for me. I'm sorry everyone over in Europe had trouble online, though.

The Aladdin and Jasmine I got are in excellent condition. Jasmine's hair is a little loose and her belt is shifted to the side a bit, but those are easy fixes should I ever open the box.

I usually don't post pics, but I think these two look great together.

Still disheartened with how everything turned out I can't believe that almost no-one managed to get Jasmine, etc online. It's not fair

Ugh, I am totally loving wedding Jasmine. Aladdin, not so much. But I'm a sucker for Jasmine. I'm still undecided if I'm going to try for the set or not.

AHH! I want Aladdin! I got my Jasmine in the mail yesterday and she is perfect. I Must have Aladdin, I hope I am successful tonight!

The wedding set pretty much confirmed my protest in purchasing any 17" going forward. I had originally purchased the Blue Aurora as an introduction to this line but as time went by I never even displayed her since I bought her on release day. I absolutely love Aladdin and it is and always will be one of my fav Disney movies and I ALMOST bought the teal Jasmine, and THEN the red slave one was announced and it was of course the D23 Exclusive. So basically any Aladdin related doll that I would really want is either a super exclusive or super low edition and ridiculously expensive which doesn't even warrant the price.

I will try for Frozen Fever Elsa as I would like to at least have a 17" Elsa and we all know trying to find Ice Queen Elsa at this point is only if one wins the lottery....if I don't get FF Elsa I'll be OK without her and will just stick to the designer lines as that's what I mainly collect anyway.

Good luck to those trying for the wedding set and any future ridiculous releases Disney comes up with as to me it's not worth the drama, stress, or ridiculousness that comes with the releases and then have scalpers end up with what true collectors enjoy.

I understand you are first and foremost a business Disney, but shame shame on you.

I'm in your exact boat! only opposite lol, I love Wedding Ali, but don't like the Jasmine

I feel exactly the same. Aladdin is my favourite Disney film and I have wanted Jasmine for years! I think this is the first LE doll I haven't managed to get. Looks like I'll have to go down the ebay route for this one.

I have actually never seen the King of Thieves, but I like both dolls in this wedding set (but then that may be because I've never seen the King of Thieves, lol). The face sculpts are both amazing, Jasmine's dress and veil are beautiful, and I LOVE that Aladdin is in Prince Ali attire but...

There's ZERO justification for a $750 price tag, especially when there's no embroidery or other special details on the initial dolls they priced at $100. If this set had been around $200 I would try to get it for sure, but it's sadly just not worth it to me. Now I wish I hadn't looked at all...sigh.

And I'm so sorry to everyone who had trouble ordering dolls online this morning.

I am hoping the U.S. Release of the Aladdin dolls and Rapunzel are not insane like I'm hearing the European release was. I will try for Jafar And Jasmine along with Rapunzel. My main goal is Rapunzel though good luck to all tonight

Are they really pricing it at 750.00?? I thought it was 500.00 (not that it makes much difference because I'm broke)

It's 500 euro so probably will be around $750 in usd.. I think it would've made more sense had they been around $300-500 mark for the set but $750 just seems way too greedy. It's like the whole Wedding Cindy situation all over again - she wasn't worth the $500 price tag but was priced at that mostly because of the low edition size.

Yeah, it is $750 for the US.

A part of me wants to buy the set because I love the Jasmine... And if I'm honest, it's tempting to have an LE number so low.
But the rational part of me says there's no way I'd ever spend that much on two dolls no better than the ones I could get for 240 dollars. Too bad Disney jumped the shark on this line.

ETA: There is NO justifiable reason for this price tag on them. Alice is more detailed with an LE of 500 and sold for the normal, LOWER price of 100 dollars, as opposed to 120. :/ At this point, I'm just disappointed.

i feel the same way, I guess I'm sort of lucky I'm broke because I can't even be tempted it's really sad the way a fun collecting hobby has gotten so out of control with prices and scalping.

My mom went to the store today and tempted me with the Aladdin. I've just had such a difficult time deciding if I want him... I mean I absolutely do. Aladdin is my favourite... but the doll? I can't make up my mind about him. The outfit is nice, Abu is adorable, the box is gorgeous.. but his hair and face just put me off. I want Aladdin so badly too, I don't want to regret not buying him. Ugh. I hate being indecisive.
