DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion

I think maleficent will sell fairly quickly, since she was anticipated. And don't forget about greedy scalpers.

I heard some were able to cancel their pre-order for pink aurora. I'm assuming that's for online and I wonder if they'll let you cancel for in-store pre-orders..?

They really should have announced both together but I'm still happy that they've come up with blue aurora. I'm wondering if this significantly devalues aurora in general due to someone mentioning the true edition size is now 9,000. Not to mention blue being more desirable than pink.

And I finally figured out what's bugging me the most about Maleficent: the proportion of her head doesn't match the body they have given her. Giving her v-neck line as well as curves with fitted dress makes her body look too tiny to have such a gigantic head.

I wanted to exchange aurora for the blue one, so called my local disney store and they said no since all sales are final.

I just cancelled my order for the pre-order Aurora. I did order my doll online so I haven't paid for her yet. The people who preorder her in the store might have an issue since they did already buy her.

That being said, I couldn't afford her right now. I'm going to NYC in a month and needed to buy my train tickets, which were just a bit cheaper than the doll. Hopefully, since the blue Aurora seems to be more popular, I can get the pink Aurora for a decent price after Christmas (since the prices generally go down in Jan).

I was completely thrown for a whirlwind when I saw blue Aurora. A little part of me thought they might do it, but I figured since they had Maleficent and Phillip to do they would pass. So I guess I'll be spending a little more on dolls this year than planned haha. I originally was only going to do Maleficent, but now blue Aurora and Maleficent for sure even though I've already pre-ordered the pink Aurora. I'm really wondering what they were thinking with Phillip. His attire is really nice along with the sword and shield. But the face mold and hair look nothing at all like him, he reminds me of a Ken doll.
Maleficent is GORGEOUS! The collar and details in the sleeves are exquisite! My only two complaints are the horns (kinda plain and small) and her neck and chest are exposed. I know it was probably a nod to the Maleficent movie design, however it looks a little incomplete with the head being fully wrapped (even underneath) and her neck being exposed completely. I was not a fan of her exposed chest and neck in the movie as well so I was kinda hoping for a full head, neck, and chest wrap. But I still LOVE the doll. She looks so amazing and I feel I could make something to cover her up a bit that will look great.

I'm so excited to FINALLY add these two amazing dolls (now possibly three) to my collection and very happy for saving a little extra money this year for dolls. I just hope my newly renovated Disney Store is getting them. I really don't want to have to order them. Although it's good they're finally having the LE 17" dolls go online a day after the store release, like they've done with the designer dolls. Makes a lot more sense.

Can you guys imagine the chaos for online on the night of 7th/8th?? Blue Aurora/Maleficent/Phillip/Cinderella-Charming Couple. Oy vey.

Seeing the side-by-side pics of Aurora, it looks like pink Aurora has real bangs (cut) while blue Aurora has a long piece of hair slanted across her forehead that ends up in her iconic curl. Kind of weird looking.

After the initial shock over Maleficent, she is growing on me, but I think a bit of velvet around her chest and neck are in order. The V does not look right.

Phillip needs his hat. While I like the outfit they put him in (particularly the dragon embroidery on chest), I would have preferred the one in which he meets Briar Rose: black shirt, vest, short cape, and hat. That being said, I realize they wanted a fancier outfit for him since it is the Heirloom Collection.

Oh god I forgot about the Cinderella/Charming designer set...oh god that night is going to be a nightmare for those of us who can't get the dolls we want in-store.

For those unable to cancel their online order, can't you just return the doll to a b&m disney store?

I'm liking Maleficent but agree about the empty area where the v-neck is. Hopefully her skin isn't shiny in person!

Also like most of you, I've pre ordered pink Aurora. But... I've always wanted/preferred a blue one. What to do!

Since it is a limited edition item, there is a chance the Disney Store will not accept the return. That is up to each individual store.

I am most DEFINITELY getting Blue Aurora! She looks gorgeous, though I do wish she had subtle blue eye shadow instead of the pink.

I'm pretty disappointed in Maleficent, and I had such high expectations. Of all the dolls, I thought they would perfect her the most. I'll be passing on her.

I also don't feel like Phillip is worth $120- I would have never recognized that as Phillip without being told it was him. Probably going to pass on him as well.

Since many people want Blue Aurora, I'm hoping that Pink Aurora's market price will go down. I wasn't able to get her, and I want both Auroras!

Hmm... I think the online store will be able to handle all the traffic. I would assume so.

You know.... It is going to be a weird night.
I completely forgot about cinderella....

So there will be at least 15,000 Dolls on sale...
And assuming that people here will be buying at least 2 of the 4 dolls, then approximately 7,500 people will be online that night....

I have not actually placed an order online before since the pink aurora was my first attempt at getting these dolls and I was lucky enough to get her pre-ordered in store. I did watch the online sale happen for pink aurora and the designer couples II set and it seemed a bit chaotic but I'm guessing I'll be fine as long as we have the link fairies. I'm just wondering how crazy it'll be since there are now multiple dolls going online in one night. And in case I do have to resort to ordering online (planning on blue aurora and cinderella), do you put one doll and complete the order to avoid them taking it out of your cart while adding the second doll??

I am so disspointed on Phillip ! He is my favourite prince, and the doll just looks like a random prince T_T Where is his curl ? What is this face T_T
I won't get him for sure, I don't like him at all.
Now, I am torn. Pink or Blue Aurora ? I guess I will have to wait them in store to choose ^^ (or just be satisfied by the one I can get, since I am sure they will be a really few number in the DS Champs-Elysées).
And I don't know for Maleficent. I kinda like her : her face, her baton with Diablo, her sleeves with embroidery...but she has a lot of problem too, her weird proportions, her waist... I am waiting for picture in her box to see how she will be displayed.
But anyway, I know I will only buy two dolls max...I just don't know which ones : two Auroras (I can figure a lot of picture in mirror with those two *w*), one Aurora and one Maleficent or just one Aurora ? I have one week (and a bit of luck to have what I wanted) to decide ^^"

One thing I don't get is how people on eBay can start selling blue aurora, maleficent, and Philip already if they don't even have them. Nothing guarantees them a doll, so I see no point.
