Who else is excited for that?!

HOORAY!! Now the real question is will we get an actual "pin event" back at DLR next year -- or will it be run as just another pin release (like the Gear Up events this summer)!!

Oooh, I'd love to be able to go to this! (In 2005, when they had the 10-year anniversary event for Indiana Jones Adventure, there was a pin to buy, and at one of the games you visited an archeological dig and found a box with a pin, so maybe there'll be a pin or two available for the Tiki Room event.)

Just a reminder to all the DL people, who may not be familiar. The wording on the "Save the Date" page http://collections.disney.go.com/blog/save-the-date-walt-disneys-enchanted-tiki-room/ calls this a MERCHANDISE event. In the past, this has meant that while there will be pins for sale, there will be numerous other things for sale, and so the pins will only make up a small fraction of what is sold. Also, since it's a merchandise event don't expect anything like Florida's pin event with lines and boards, and a big place for trading for 2 days. Most likely, this will involve some sort of panel discussions with Imagineers who worked on the original attraction and/or refreshing for DL's 50th, and stuff like that. Since it says there will be "trading elements" that is a good thing for pin people, but I would caution against thinking that it will be a 3-day Pin Trading Night or like the Epcot event.

Now go back to celebrating that Disney is honoring the 50th anniversary of the Tiki Room with a multi-day celebration!

I'm returning from a month long trip to Europe on the 28th next year, including a DCL cruise and a trip to DLRP. Sometimes these timings just kill me. Hmmm... Not a huge fan of Tiki Room...

Wow - planned out that far in advance! Yay! Have a great time at DLRP and on the DCL...

This is one of my favorite DLR attractions as well! Can't wait! I LOVED the 45th merchandise release June 22nd, 2008! I got the tiki fountain as well as other neat items. I posted about this event over at Tiki Central a few days ago. THe artist Shag is designing some merchandise for this event and the Disney Gallery will also host an exhibit based on the Tiki Room!

Someone asked about pins on Disney Parks Blog and was told this is not a pin event, but that there would be pin trading. So here's hoping there's at least a pin game/board or two.

Sooooo excited about new SHAG Disney merchandise no matter what it is!! I went to the SHAG Haunted Mansion 40th release & signing & will be going to this if he's signing again, but will be going anyways to buy stuff!

I started collecting Disneyland event items when I saw SHAG was the commissioned artist. I've been a fan of his work since 2000. Need to look at the calendar to see if I can attend, sounds like a lot of cool stuff will be made for this event.

AWESOME! I still remember waiting in the 4 hour line to buy the fountain, seems just like yesterday. I hope this is a traditional paid merch event with RSP and all - least stressful and most fun!
