You might think the title is a little heavy handed but so often we forget how much we ask for help from our fellow traders without ever returning the favor, or passing it forward. So I'm asking all of you for your help. Echoharmony does SO much to help other traders, without asking for anything in return and without up-selling. She buys pins at cost for people and has even gotten many of you into Disneyland for free. I know that she has helped me get several grails and not because I asked for her help, but because she wanted to do something nice, she likes helping people and I'm hoping that maybe all of us can help her.

Mulan is her favorite movie and as you all know tomorrow morning the Mulan PODM pins are being released. Now if I had anyway of getting to the park I'd buy every Mulan pin I could for her, but unfortunately I live too far away and have too many financial problems to fly down there. Which is why I'm reaching out to all of you, to help in the only way I can. I know that getting PODMs is difficult, especially at Disneyland, but I know that many of you for the Lion King release were able to get 10, 15, even 20 pins and all I'm asking is that instead of keeping those to yourself, that you think of trading/selling 1 or 2, or even 3 at cost to Echo. I know she'd be willing to trade or do just about anything to get all of the scenes I would also be willing to buy/trade for a few on her behalf.

Echo has a great heart and while she may not have helped you, isn't it enough to know that if you asked she would? Or that she's helped so many others? She deserves our help and I hope that you can find it in your heart to help her get these much beloved pins. For anyone who's willing to help I might be able to do something in addition to the trade/sale. I could bake cookies, I'd make you something...I don't know, whatever it takes to help Echo get more of these Mulan PODMs than the 2 she can get on her own.

I have purchased more than one and I will be happy to trade/sell it for what I paid for it $50.00+3. Let me know as I am totally new to collecting so I will be fairly easy to trade with since I want/NEED lol so much.
 
Thanks guys! I know she'll really appreciate it. As for paying $50 I don't think that's within her budget, I know that there are already many people offering for that price and she hasn't taken any of them up on it. But trading's good too.
 
This is such a nice thread lol but a part of me wishes that there could be someway to hide this thread from her that way it would have been a total surprise when she got them lol but I'm sure she'd be just as surprised to see how nice it was of your ruby to do this for her :) I wish I lived somewhere by the theme parks or DSF, but I'm nowhere near any of them so getting LE pins is hard for me. I really wish a could help, I'd gladly do it xP
 
I would have liked to hide it from her as well, but unfortunately I don't know anyone personally to ask directly.

Mahrii, I don't know whether she would be willing to make that trade or not, you would have to contact her directly, but seeing as the Designer Maleficent is going for more than $100, which is what 2 Mulan PODMs seem to be going for, I'm kind of leaning towards a no, but again I can't speak for her.
 
As much as we love these and have no chance of getting what we hope to get tomorrow... I will make sure my buddy Echo gets one... With as many as we trade for and hopefully win in upcoming Goofy Auctions, We are bound to get this release caught up to the others... Before then we'll make sure she gets her cell...
 
Bdrgcdwrtgfgjtddrg!!!!!!!! I just now saw this thread! I spent the evening talking in person to a friend who is going through a tough time and needed a shoulder to lean and cry on, and then went straight to the line here at downtown Disney! It warms and touches my heart so much that this thread was started for me! I was definitely surprised to see a thread with my name in the title! Thank you ruby so so much for being so sweet and thinking of me, and to everyone for your sweet comments. I really appreciate it and I'm so lucky to have amazing friends!!! I was kinda hoping you wouldn't see it so it would be a surprise. So SURPRISE! Hopefully my begging and pleading works. You've been an awful good friend to me so this was the least I could do.
 
I need to rely on others' kindness even to get one scene, but I am sending positive vibes to Echo to get smashingly good scenes :)
 
Good vibes and I hope everyone gets all the scenes they want (how many are there)?

2 Mulan PODMs for a Designer Maleficent doesn't seem too bad. Someone here, I think it was Mischiefmanaged, sold his individual pins for $100 each (except Gothel). And the original price comparison ($25 vs $50) seems to be okay. So, it seems the prices have somewhat stabilized for the Designer Villains (except Gothel since everyone seems to be keeping her) to approx $100. So, if one gets 2 Mulan scenes selling for $50 or more, that seems to be good?! I don't know.

BTW, Mischief is also selling a complete set for $700 postage paid, so that seems like Gothel is valued at $200? Does that sound about right? (Sorry to hijack the thread going off in a different direction)
 
I think ruby was pointing out that she posted this thread in hopes that people would offer to help me get scenes at coast, which isn't what mahrii was doing. I could be wrong though, im sleep deprived and loopy. Nor has mahrii responded to pms I've sent her trying to work out trades. =\

I still really appreciate ruby making this thread for me even though no one has gotten me any scenes at cost that I know of. Fingers crossed. Hopefully pin karma will come back to me in getting my most wanted scenes :-) and I hope everyone else looking finds the scenes they're looking for!

Yes, indeed I was hoping that people would offer them at cost. While I totally understand price mark ups, I don't think you're doing anyone any favors by doing so. Pins are always available at an increased price on ebay, and ebay at least has buyer protection. Which is not to say that I'm implying anyone here wouldn't be completely honest about a trade, just that a little added security is never a bad thing.

These are my thoughts and there is no intention to offend anyone:

Echo: I think you should wait til the furor dies down before getting the scenes you want. It is difficult to get people to buy anyone anything for cost because frankly, that means one is valuing that person's time (6-8 hours at DLR, 1-3 hours at WDW) at nothing. I will sell pins that it "costs" me the 5 minutes to find the pin, look at all the pins on the rack to find the best one, and stand in line to pay for it. For Mulan, let's say the person was able to get 2 pins. The out of pocket cost (cash) is $50 + tax. The out of pocket cost (lost time that one might have been working) is a minimum of $48-64 (that's $8/hr minimum wage in CA). Hopefully, people are making more than minimum wage.

BTW, the last auction for the designer villains. The pins sold between $70 and $150 (Gothel). And originally sold for $25. Yes, they are LE200 and yes, Mulan is LE2000, but how many different scenes are there in Mulan? About 8-12 that I found. Divided equally, that means each scene is LE 167 to 250 (but we know that the "rare" scene probably doesn't have quite as many).

I live an hour away from Disneyland and couldn't take time off from work to go there. I pre-traded for what I could and bought what I could, sight unseen! I have heard of people getting in line at 4/5 am, getting wristbands, waiting for the park to open (it didn't open til 10 am so that means waiting in line and not even seeing the pins for 5-6 hours). This is for Disneyland. Not so sure about WDW since we didn't get a lot of people posting from there.

Those are my thoughts. Feel free to agree or disagree.

P.S. One tip: See if you can find a friend in Florida (since the releases seem to go better there) that you can help with DLR/DSF only releases. Establish a trading relationship and he or she might be able to help for future PODMs at cost :)

I think you might be missing the point of thus thread. Ruby started it because I often get things for people at retail price with no upcharge, and she was hoping that since I do that for anyone who asks, that for this one release, people would return the favor. It has nothing to do with eBay values, a lack of valuing other peoples time, or anything like that. Thank you.

You seem to be getting really off topic. I was just trying to help a friend, not debate the cost of pins. And despite the fact that I disagree with your opinions of pin values, because pin trading is a hobby not a business, it's all irrelevant and best discussed in another thread. I was simply trying to help a friend who does way more for others than anyone does for her, in the only way I could since I live 20 hours away from Disneyland. If you can't help or choose not to, that's cool, but I don't think you should be telling her how she should value the pins or how anyone else should value the pins.

Please understand this is said completely without malice, I'm just pointing out that it's not at all related to the posted topic.
 
And your tip was exactly what I was trying to generate. Someone at one of the parks, yes, preferably WDW since they do get more cels, who might be willing to work out a trade/buy situation with Echo.
 
I offered to get her two Mulan PodMs for a designer villain pin, why would ou not trade and save your cash?
two Mulans at $50 cost more than one of the designer villains at cost. $159/6, each Designer villain only cost $26 so I offered twice the value of the pin I asked for, not to mention that in order to get my Mulan PodMs I had to spend 36 hours with no sleep.
 
Not true any more, I confirmed with the artist herself that they did even out the release numbers in both park, they are not giving more PodMs to WDW than DLR.

and please tell me why not do the trade I offered, it is totally tilted in her favor regarding cost, I am offering two Mulan PodMs for 1 designer villain pin. PODM cost=$50 for two, designer villain pin is $26 for one pin.

if she wants to buy at cost, why won't she trade this, she is getting twice the value of the pin.

But the cost of my offer is twice what she paid for her pin, and if we go by what they are going for then Mulans seem to be going for at least $50 and up, so two PodMs with be at least $100 in value. So similar current value, both recently released.

:( Do I not count? Although we haven't talked trade details, I said I would be easy. Normally,i don't like to get involved in this stuff but I can see where this thread is heading. I refuse to sell, but there is trading basically to cover cost, and not "trade up" and that was what I was planning. So yeah, :(
