Having attended a couple pin releases at DSSH now I've noticed that some people have small plastic sleeves to keep their pins protected.

Do you use anything like this?

What are they? Are they pin specific are they for coins, etc?
Where do you find them?

Thanks for your thoughts and help in advance.

No, I don't. I put them in their pin bags with no plastic covering, unless it's a free-D or dangle, then I leave those in their original packaging.

You can get these supplies in the jewelry aisle at WalMart or in various craft stores. Usually a bag of 100 for $1 (or slightly more).

I keep my pins in books away from dust and sunlight. I do use the plastic sleeves to protect pins with easy to scratch surfaces. Try Michael's or Joann's. I buy mine at Frank and Son off the 60 fwy. You can buy pins there too. :)

The only pin I have protected by a plastic wrap is the Auctions spinner on my ENG lanyard. I do it because it's fragile at the spinner area and because it's worth a lot to me. Plus, I don't trust a lot of people at PTN or events I go to so I protect my "best" pins. I've only wore it twice. I don't really wrap my other pins, I'm careful that I don't grind them together or scratch them and I use safety locking backs.
