What do I do about this? I had a couple people lined up to buy the Maleficent pins for me. One immediately refunded payment via PayPal as she was unable to get the pins. The other has not replied to emails, has not replied to PMs here on DPF. I was giving the benefit of the doubt, maybe something happened to this person. However when I saw that they came on the forums last night around 10:30 PST, I knew that I had been had (for $175.00).

Moderators: Do you hash IPs? If I can just get a name and/or IP address I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

For now the username will not be mentioned. I will give it to a moderator assuming the person doesnt get in touch with me today

A frustrated, and now non-trusting, pin trader

You really need to work on your patience. I usually give people at least 48 hours before I start worrying about refunds after an event.

If you have the Tapatalk app on your phone, it will show you online even if you are not.

Seriously though, take a deep breath and give them a chance. You weren't the one in line at 4am, lol.

Thank you for the post Rasputin. I was watching if they would come online yesterday. The person came online at 10:33 and hadn't been online since 337 AM the previous day. After several emails and promises from the person that my pins would be out yesterday, not a word at all.

I didn't name the name - nor will I, unless I get refunded of the pins come. Look, the person signed up on DPF in April, had a feedback of 1. Has made a whopping 2 posts and isnt replying to emails, where before the paypal they were replying constantly. You do the math...

See there, you left out that important information in your original post. If you sent as a gift and they have only one feedback, sorry but that was a mistake you shouldn't have made.

Right, I made a mistake - I get that... So back to my question: Does the site hash IP addresses? Do the moderators have the ability to PM me their name (if they even used a real one...)

I've already emailed PayPal and I'm quite certain that I have no recourse through them. I'm just trying to cover all my bases. Ultimately I am hoping that I don't lose faith in this community due to one rotten apple. Unfortunately that was a LOT of money and regardless of feedback I am now re-evaluating my method of trading.

Did you send the paypal payment as goods or marked as a gift? If it was goods, just open a case (INR). If it was a gift, then there's no hope :(

Well if you did it with a credit card you can place a claim with them, if it was through your bank account you might be able to claim it as fraudulent or a scam. I'm sure even paypal would chip in if it was claimed as a scam.

I would also get their name and email from Paypal, find them on Facebook and message them through there. I'm sure they're probably noobs and are part of groups there. Maybe they spent the money and didn't get the pins or something which is bad etiquette but you at least deserve an answer. :)... I've had to resort to this before, pressure works... Lol

Sending as a gift was a big no-no.

I would do a chargeback if paid through a credit card. Otherwise you'll need to contact your bank and see if they can help you.

If you paid with PayPal funds, you are most likely out of luck. Call PayPal.

Good luck.
