I thought it would be interesting to see how many Ds.com pins have come out in recent years. I know that this year, there has been the least amount of pins added that I have ever seen.

So, the breakdown of the most recent years of how many pins were released that year:
20 Pins for 2013 (so far)
102 Pins for 2012
Approx. 700 Pins for 2010
Approx. 607 Pins for 2009

I will add more years as I go along, but there definitely has been less and less pins coming from Ds.com starting with 2012. It is a little upsetting, but hopefully Ds.com picks it up a little with releases.

You want to see how many we get in the uk disneystore lol we only get 1 pin released every 2 weeks which equals 2 pins amonth but we do get dlp pins on the website but I'm liking the ds.com pins better than the ds.uk pins and you get a lot of sets of pins we don't get many of these either

I went on pinpics and counted. I counted each pin in the set plus the other LE Fab 5 pins they have had out recently.
There was:
3 Miscellaneous Fab 5 LE pins
6 Snow White ones (including Jumbo)
5 Peter Pan
6 Oz

I completely understand. I wish you guys got more pins too The only thing about ds.com pins is that there are mostly boxed sets. The prices are so high on them and some of them are just really ugly. I wish they had more good LE individual pins on the site. They have been adding a lot of Disney Parks pins, and they are all OE stuff. So, not very good traders there. But, hopefully soon, there will be something nice for both Ds.com and Ds.com.uk!

Either I am going insane or there are a butt-load of pins that came out in 2010
Around 700. I am not exact because it took me so long to count hahaha
And those aren't even counting the Artist Proof Sets...

Looking at these numbers, and the fact that they canceled the PTN's... it really does make me think that Disney is going to start getting rid of pins / pin trading. I can see that happening...

**voice of reason**

Disney will not "get rid of pins." They might change how they distribute them, reduce the amount coming from official disney sites, do more outsource licensing. But they won't get rid of them totally.

Breath easy folks.

All I know is I want some really good DS.com pins considering I can easily take advantage of DS.com as opposed to WDW, DLR, and DSF I'm sad that Disney seems to be neglecting pins more, but I agree with Kristine, pin trading is so staple in Disney parks that for them to get rid of them, it would take decades because people collect them, CMs have them on their lanyard, they are traded and sold everywhere, etc. so it isn't something they can just get rid of.
