Just announced that due to the impending storm it has moved from Friday to Sunday, December 14th at 7am.

It seems like this storm has the potential to be much more powerful than the previous one. Plus they need to keep their employees' safety in mind. There are typically more employees outside during releases than during PTD sales.

I for one am glad that it moved. There will be more people there but I will have an extra hour to sleep before driving over, and I won't have to worry about rushing to work (through LA freeway traffic in the rain) right after buying my pins if I draw a good number.

Always better to be postponed rather than canceled! No complaining here!

Though my opinion doesn't matter much, since I don't live there, lol!

But yes, it sounds like a blessing for some people, annoyance for others.

I am delighted that the release was re-scheduled for Sunday because:
a) Unlike Friday, Sunday is not a work-day for me so I do not need to take ½ day vacation to come to the release.
b) I particularly dislike
driving in the rain, mostly because I do not believe many others in the greater southern CA area know how to drive safely in adverse weather.

:like: My thoughts exactly. But I don't think I'll make this release anyhow. I mainly only want the Jumbo BATB pin so it's probably just worth it to buy it on the secondary market.

My wife and I work with the high school group at our church. Our studies are on Tuesaday nights, so no trading nights for me. And now they move a pin release to Sunday? Probably a bunch of non-practicing Catholics making decisions there. I've written off DLR releases, since they are always workdays, Thursday AM. Seems they hate people that actually work everywhere except D23 goes to MoG which was always on Saturdays. And now word is those are done. Great...

I have been watching the big storm headed towards the DSSH area all day here http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/pacsouthwest_loop.php .

Actually, I've been watching it pretty much just hovering over the greater SF Bay Area all day.

Considering how little its moved south today, I find it hard to believe it’s going to reach the DSSH area tomorrow by. And I am starting to think it may not get there until sometime over the weekend.

If this indeed turns out to be the case, then we need to be prepared for DSSH to reschedule the release again.
I hope I’m wrong about this, for Sunday is a perfect day for me.

I was completely wrong: the massive storm has reached the DSSH area.

Really glad they rescheduled release because I've been in that area before standing in line for pins in the rain, and it is not at all fun.

Massive areas of flooding, not just around DSF but also the freeways and surface streets to get to and from there. I'm grateful that they rescheduled it. Driving there, waiting in the flood, and driving back would NOT have been either safe or fun.

Way to go dssh glad they thought of keeping everyone safe and away from the rain :) Stay safe today folks

Yikes! I am glad they rescheduled it! Looks like it was a blessing after all!

Hope everyone that wants to can attend this coming Sunday!

The news said rain was coming back on Sunday, hope it happens after the release

Oh no! Why all this bad weather during the Christmas month? Argh!

Well, assuming the release still happens, good luck to everyone going! And please post pictures if you get the pins! I'm very interested in seeing what the jumbos look like in person! I have already seen the other three pins, but can't seem to find any photos of the jumbos!

Bookhugger, I was just on the Weather Channel website. They do not show any rain for tonight or Sunday in the L.A. area.
