I am new to this forum and will probably not be around much longer, but here is something I just found on Ebay.

There are several DSF pins listed for cheap, and they are mostly listed by a seller in CHINA. A good number of them ar characters in director's chairs.

Some people just ignore sellers from China, but folks new to pin trading do not know they are probably buying SCRAP pins. Not to mention, if these sellers are now starting to scrap DSF pins, then the only way traders are going to be able to trust it is authentic is by having it in a sealed package.

More scrapper drama for the pin chipper (similar to wood chipper)...

Why won't you be around? Just because someone doesn't agree with your trading methods is no reason to leave! That's gonna happen - no matter where you are. Either your trade habits will work for you or they won't. You can only decide that. And as always, it takes two to trade.

As for pins on eBay - well, most people that I have tried to warn and educate say "I'm just buying them for my kids to trade at the park, so I don't care!" UGH

Probably because Applecore saw what I went through . Doesn't matter what you ask or say, someone is here to make you feel like pooh .
Don't buy from China Applecore, they are scrappers .
My situation was different, I took a chance because A. it was an auction, not a BIN .
B. the seller was from FLORIDA, next town over from WDW .

I agree with Spiffie. Don't leave! You seem real and down to earth. We need people like that here.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. When we do buy from sellers in China, we usually get good stuff. Maybe 3 out of the 5 times we have bought from those sellers.
I've seenthose listings. If there are more we'll keep an eye out.

They have scrapped the Tink pintrader delight where she has a cherry too. The director chair pins are obvious in person, the fakes have lots of extra metal and the backs aren't shiny smooth. They are pitted and streaky.

I thought those director chairs might have been scrapped. I found two on cast lanyards at DLR but I wasn't quite sure about them (two different characters) - the ice cream cones went all the way to the edge too :P

Hopefully they don't scrap any "good" DSF pins.

I remember seeing a scrapper notice on director's chair pins when they were released. If I remember correctly, they hit Ebay before they were released.

I am now seeing the DSF Soda Jerk series on Ebay and from known scrapper sellers who are at the east coast. Those pins are sold over and over by the same sellers.

I am sad to see the DSF pins to succumb to the scrappers as well :(

As far as not being around on the forums ... Trading is only one of the activities we do here and I do not trade too often myself. But, there are still other things you can do if you decide to stick around - and I hope you do.

The Tink Under Jack Sparrow's hat (54649) has been scrapped as well, although the fakes are fairly obvious with paint dips and such. I used to see them quite frequently on lanyards a few years ago. Not so much anymore, but they are out there. :)
