How do you go about getting some of the harder to find pins? Like right now I am really loving the Gnomes Zero but it seems impossible, but still people get it, I mean obviously you can pay the price on the bay but how do you go about trading? How do you even find people trading these pins?? Let alone aproach them with a trade! Any advise is much appreciated! Thanks guys!

Most of the time somebody knows someone who knows someone who knows a guy who bought it when it came out. You have to let it come to you and eventually it'll come. I'm no expert but that's how I've managed to get some of my htf pins

Hey, I know that guy. Wasn't he the guy that said that thing about the pin who traded it to that other guy? Oh never mind, wrong guy.

I'm rather new to trading but have been a long time observer. It seems to me, solely through observation, that your chances go up significantly for a HTF pin if you have other HTF pins worth trading. Be mindful that trade values almost always fluctuate with time. I agree with Nathan, patience is the key in trading for a HTF pin. Make friends with fellow pin traders and frequent pin events and get active on Pin Pics. You never know when someone may cut you break or even have that pin but has it solely for trading purposes or obtained it from a previous trade but doesn't really care for it and you will be there to take advantage of it.

Also, it would help, if you can or are able to attend LE pin releases. For example, I have a friend who goes to the Disney Soda Fountain, buys pins (one for her and one to trade). Over time, depending on the pin, it's possible that the value will increase on that pin and it becomes more of a worthwhile trader that you may wind up being able to trade for your grail/htf pin. Recently, she was there for the surprise release of the Up BT pins. She got it for retail price (not sure what that was...I don't collect those ones) but turns out since it was a surprise and LE, it has sky rocketed in value and now she has a real bargaining chip she COULD use if she comes across her grail. Up and Tangled are currently the "hot high value" pins that usually trade well. Even if you don't collect them, it's worth attending a release event to get some because they are so sought after, they are usually highly trade-able.

As for approaching for a trade, just be brave and ask! Be very polite, friendly and understanding if they choose not to trade. I'd say 85% of pin traders are kind and will never snub you for asking/inquiring. As the saying goes, it never hurts to ask. I guess my tips are... patience, persistence and determination. Best of luck in your hunt! :D

Hi!

There is always pinpics to find people who are trading your HTF pins. Thats probably your most reliable source into finding who has what, who wants what for it and so on.

As far as trading for them. In our experience, when trading for a HTF pin. Value always seems to come into play. Example, some people have the tangled marquee for trade..most people ive come across who have a trader will want $350-400 worth of pins for it. Not to say everyone trades like that..but when it comes to the HTF pins..value is of most importance to the majority of those trading them.

Getting the HTF pins..like Disney Auctions LE 100's or what have you is really all about timing and patience. Its also about having the right combination of pins to trade when u come across a person that has them.

We hope this helps, there really isnt a clear cut science to attaining these pins. sometimes good ol' luck is the best strategy :)

and with gomes pins, people will always trade them much harder than they actually are. I was trying to get the oogie boogie gomes at ptn and someone wanted 2 designer princesses. lol. just cuz it was an le 100?! the zero is a lovely pin!

At some point you have to buy gomes or masterpice pins to trade for the gomes pins you want. As time goes by you will get more and more pins that everyone else wants. Five years ago no one would trade with my wife and I.

I only trade hard for the sprite, other gomes I treat like any other htf

I've seen this zero often so you'll get it eventually, its nice but as far as homes pins go it isn't the best so don't let anyone pull the its a gomes so I need MOAR for it. Try and see what traders on pi pics who have it collect and work from there, most people use gomes to get HTFs they don't wanna buy or can't trade for.

I have this pin and looked at your trades hoping to help you but right now I can't :( but I will keep you in mind and watch your trades as they grow ^_^ I swear no one ever really asks for it when I bring it to events or just wanna trade kinda weak things :/

Good luck on your quest and all this advice from everyone will aid you in all your future pin trading
