Hi everyone! I will be going to DLR and DCA tomorrow, Saturday June 8, and I am super stoked!

This will be the first time I bring my mini pin book, and I am pretty nervous! Well, more like intimidated! I have always seen pin traders at the tables near the LGM store, and I get extremely intimidated and nervous, and I literally just look and walk away... This time, I have my lil' pin book, and I am hoping to try to trade with a non CM for once. Just call it, one of my Summer Bucket List items is to trade a pin there.

Has anyone felt this way before when you first traded pins in person with a non-CM? I would love to hear your first pin trades story? :)
 
Wish I was going Nothing to be intimidated by just ask if you can look at there pins Offer them to look at yours. Hope you make some great trades. Good luck
 
just pretend that you've been doing it all your life (that's what we did!). MOST people are super friendly because they enjoy trading, avoid the grouchy people unless they have a grail lol :D and most importantly, have fun!
 
The first time I traded with a non-CM was at the Central Florida Pin Traders for April, and I must say, I was initially super intimidated and even a bit overwhelmed. My couple of books versus their couple dozen books... lol

However, people quickly started to introduce themselves and make me feel welcomed, and I loosened up from there... I had to leave the event earlier than I expected that day, but I managed to make some friends, and I made like 8 trades that day!!

But yes, I figure that the first time, and probably for me, future times since it's so sporadic, will be intimidating. Just make trades you're comfortable with and have FUN!!!
 
I just went to DLR with some friends yesterday and they just started pin trading. I told them to come with me to the tables by LGM. We were looking at the books, and they would tell me that they felt intimidated that the trader would never trade for her one star wars pin she had. I told her you just have to ask. The worst thing they can say is no. She finally made her way to the trader and asked. Wouldn't you know it she came back with her first trade. My advice is just have fun ,and never be afraid to ask.
 
Thanks for the advice everyone! I traded with CMs, but I didn't get to go to the tables. I will definitely trade with the tables before Summer is over. Summer Bucket List!!! :D I will definitely showcase my pins that I got soon! :)
