Hi Everyone,
Needing some advice. I recently purchased :
Pin 80468: WDI - Princesses and Princes on Thrill Rides - Aurora and Phillip on Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye from an eBay seller and when I got the pin the eyes on Aurora and Phillip had no pupils. Everything else about the pin checked out fine and it looks like a legitimate WDI pin from the pin back pattern. I know of the Tangled Thrill Ride pin had problems with Flynn's eyes but I never saw anything about Auroa and Phillip.

Has anyone else seen this or should I contact the seller for a refund or exchange. The pin in the picture of the listing had pupils and it wasn't the stock photo from PinPics (which is an electronic drawing and not a photo).

I will gladly take any advice.

Thank you.

I have the same pin and Aurora and Phillip both have pupils, but it also looks like the paint for those could easily come off. I've heard of there being issues with Tiana and Naveen's eyes too for their thrill ride. I think it may just be this series, unfortunately.

Oh okay. I have heard that the quality control on this series was not what it used to be.

I seem to recall that some of the pins in this series were reported to be scrappered.

According to Pinpics all of the pins have been scrappered but the sad part is that it sounds like some of the scrappers might be better quality. A few of the scrappers I've heard people "supposedly" have, have pupils for Flynn, as opposed to authentic ones which may not have pupils. Aurora and Phillip might be similar. At this rate, these pins are nearly impossible to tell scrapper from authentic considering there are flaws on some of the authentic ones to start with -__- And I really love this set too.

Yikes! I was thinking of trying to complete the set but they are really hard to find.

Yeah they are I have been looking up this set in terms of scrappers and the general consensus is pretty much thinking that scrappers of these pins are very rare to come by so I doubt you have one. The reason why is because, despite scrappers existing, like you said, all the pins are still in a fairly high demand with Tangled, BatB, and Little Mermaid being in a very high demand and these pins pretty much aren't being heavily sold in the gray market. So many people I've read about think that a few scrappers of each pin made it out and they are next to impossible to detect, so as long as you aren't buying it from some place where you have next to no trust in, I think you should be fine.

I would contact the seller and just update and ask where they got it form hopefully in search of a convincing back story. If not, I don't think there is any defining feature for any of the scrappers so at this point, I think scrappers of this pin will never really be noticed unless it is a really poor pin.
