I feel like we've had this conversation before in another thread, does anyone remember what it was called? Disney Princess Line-up? I'll try to find it.

Maybe SPOILER - It's funny though Elsa doesn't have a partner and she darn sure will be featured in the Disney princess lines soon, even though she wasn't the first. I guess it just depends on how well it is done. I felt like they didn't make a huge deal about her being alone, which was refreshing - usually it is the main focus with Girl Power films.

Anyways..... dying to know the truth behind all these crazy LE rumors, my wishes: no pre-sale, new outfits, great hair on Elsa!
 
Last thing I'll say, I promise! I found this on the Disney Wiki and thought it might explain why Mulan is included. The original concept for the line was not based on lineage or bloodline but rather:

The princesses to be featured in the line were chosen from classic Disney films. The characters were not chosen specifically for their royal titles, but rather for how well they fit into what Disney executives deemed "the Princess mythology". Mulan is an example of this concept; she has no familial ties to royalty, but is still included in the character list. Tinker Bell was once included under the same principle before it was decided she was not suited for the "mythology". http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Disney_Princess

Anyways, back to Frozen! I saw someone post on the Facebook page that there would be an official announcement on the 6th of January for the pre-order, but I'm not sure how reliable that is. Is anyone else hoping that they might make another snowglobe when the movie comes out? Historically does Disney do that at all?

Anyway .. You heard January 6th as the announcement? Wow .. that's super close to the actual date. That may put fans into a crazed manic. I'm really shocked Disney would do that, as if they want it to be a surprise pre-sale. However, we won't know what to expect because Disney always surprises us and nothing has been officially stated. I'm kind of hoping it's not a pre-sale .. only because I want these dolls shipped right away so I can enjoy them. My snow Elsa is lonely without her snow sister Anna .. lol
 

Disney usually releases information on preorder dolls the Friday before the week of the release so if not this Friday the 3rd, the 6th is definitely a plausible date.

as much as I would love the dolls now I wouldn't mind if it were preorder, just so that we can have a bit of a break, also no idea where I am going to put them as I have no more room haha. 2014 is going to be an interesting year for doll releases as 2013 saw these dolls become more and more popular with more people finding out about them. I fear that trying to obtain these dolls will just become more and more difficult.
 
I want disney to make a heroines line so badly and move Merida, Pocahontas and Mulan into it and bring back the forgotten girls, esmerelda, Meg efc haha

I would hate for Pocahontas and Mulan to be moved to a line that will most likely not be popular and die. The movies that the forgotten girls are in just aren't as revered as the princess movies, which is why the girls are forgotten. I don't particularly like Pocahontas, but I do consider her to be a princess, since she is daughter of the chief. Merida actually is a princess. And Mulan is one of the strongest Disney characters IMO, one of the few Disney heroines who's actually shown using her intelligence to solve problems and defeat the bad guy. I really don't see the problem with having all of them in the princess line. Doll and merchandise wise, it would just mean that not everyone will be in every collection; there will be rotation.

I actually love Hunchback and Tarzan and would love to see Esmeralda and Jane dolls, and I think they would sell really well as special edition dolls. I don't see them selling that well as playline dolls though. They did make a stunning LE Alice doll which is now one of the most coveted LE dolls ever, so maybe one day we will see LE Esmeralda and Jane dolls. I really hope so, but I'd want to see Mulan first.

I agree that Disney store didn't translate Pocahontas well as a doll. She actually has a normal sized head in the movie and yet they gave her an enormous head as a doll, and her features are a bit off. Hopefully they will fix that at some point. The Mattel Pocahontas dolls were stunning and much more accurate, and I have several of them.

As for Mulan, I find it very interesting that all her dolls, no matter from what company, look the same, and are inaccurate in the same way. The Disney store Mulan doll looks a lot like the Mattel one, which looks a lot like the Simba one. They all make her nose and face too long, which gives her face this odd lazy look that she never has in the movie.
 
Guys this is getting grossly out of topic ladyrosalie kindly provided us a link so that you can continue the topic there as it is more appropriately suited for that thread. At the moment the topic of princesses has sort of hijacked the Frozen thread which is not really appropriate, you have every right to voice your own opinions but it should be in the appropriate thread as it is not very fair for those expecting to find Frozen information on here.

I do agree with you dollover about the Mulan dolls though haha.

That would be so great! I love Esmeralda & Meg & Jane! Actually it would be cool for Elsa to be added to that line since she's a queen rather than a princess!
 
I asked my DS store and they said there will be a pre-order of two separate dolls. I asked about the double Harrods set and he said he may have heard something about that but did not think the store was getting them. Disney is renting space from Harrods, so it is a Disney run store within Harrods so I guess they could do anything they want, but they would have to change them even slightly because Disney is pretty good about honoring a limited edition. JC Penney Disney Stores are also owned and run by Disney, so it is all Disney.

So happy to be reading how the others got their hands on the Frozen dolls! Unfortunately, the online Disney store has ran out of classic Elsa and Anna dolls. They only have the singing dolls and the deluxe set available. Would you have any news as to when they are restocking them or if they will release a 2014 version of Anna and Elsa? Thank you so much!
 
There's a possibility of restocking on January 10th as well as when then frozen DVD is released in march I believe
 
Hey guys. Happy New Year. So I thought I'd share some good news!! Keep an eye out tomorrow for an official announcement from Disney about the dolls. I was lucky enough to see the pictures of them today and WOW. You'll be very pleased. I know these will definitely be added to my collection.

I hope they are pre order and we arent getting them til March!! I can afford them now, i just will have to cut my food budget back a bit until I make enough money to cover the extra :lol:
 
im not blown away, but because the quality is so bad ill keep my judgements to myself till tommorow
