Generous Pin Trading Experiances
Post them here.
I am fairly new to pin trading, and I have found how generous people can be around here!
So tell your stores here.
To start, when I was around 12, I was in Disney World (outside the big pin store at downtown) and I was trying to collect the hidden mickey car set. This is the one with the characters driving little cars. I had Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Buzz. But I did not have my favorite character, stitch, the last pin in the set. For some reason I have noticed that hidden mickeys are harder to get in the parks than online. And no-one wanted to trade stitch. I asked a crabby trader (The bane of pin trading) if he saw anything on my lanyard that he liked. He scoffed and turned away (I had several LE's and good pins, being a kid). A lady who had her pins set up at a table saw this and went over, and offered several pins until he traded it away. She then brought it to me and said "Give me any pin on that lanyard and I'll give you stitch!" So I gave her a Donald duck as Han solo for the pin (I have a distinct memory of this LOL). That really made my day. Maybe this person is on the forums, I just want to say thanks!
Also, just a few days ago, TiggerMickey gave me a very generous trade, that I wanted to say thanks for too!
Ok, that's enough from me, someone else post!
I just started 4 months ago, and I have been really impressed with how nice most traders can be. When I first started, I was all about the villains "Bowling Set". Unbeknownst to me, this was a heavily counterfeited set. All I needed to complete my set was Ursula, and I finally found a pin trader that had her. As he was going through my book, he informed me that all but 1 of the bowling pins I had were fake. He had the authentic pins and pointed out where the flaws were in mine. After he gave my girlfriend and I a good lesson on how to spot fakes, he started pulling all of his real bowling pins out of his book. He replaced every single one, and gave me the one I was missing, asking nothing in return. Very cool guy, so I just wanted to say thanks if you are on here!
checkout our trade matches, but I'm selling to pay my kitty's bill that i can't even bring home . The only one I know longer have is the mystery carousel stitch horse . Why do I think you asked or I asked already ? These steroids are really knocking me for a loop .
This past August I went to WDW to celebrate my birthday. Of course, I was trading all over the parks and I had several great experiences. The fun I had trading in the parks on my past trip is the reason I joined the pin forum.
The most exciting trade moment came when I was at the pin trading store in DTD. I was searching everywhere for my last pin in the MAIN STREET character hidden Mickey set, Stitch. The CM's saw that it was my birthday, I was wearing the button, and asked me what pin I was looking for. One of the CM's said ,"Wait here just a second". So I waited in the store, browsing, until she came back. She held out her two fists and said, "Pick a hand". I choose one and it was a HAPPY BIRTHDAY pin. I thanked her and started to go. She then stoped me and said, "Wait, you have to see what's in the other hand".... and it was the stitch! She gave me BOTH pins and said, "Have a magical birthday".
-footnote: Later I discovered that ALL of my Main street pins are scrappers. However, I had such a great time collecting and trading for them, I'm just happy to have them. I had a great time on my search.
