Get to Know: Sponsors & Promotional Partners
While working on the Guides for Affiliations, Retail Locations and Licensees, I realized that pins promoting sponsors or one-off promotions are a bigger category than I initially realized, especially when considering foreign pins. Therefore, they deserve their own Guide. Many were only available to sponsor employees, or Cast Members who worked at the sponsored attraction as part of their costume. However, pins were also available via promotions, eligible purchases and contest gifts.

Air Nippon Airways

Japanese airline company. Their planes have flown with Star Wars themed liveries, and there are pins to match.

Alaska Airlines

American airline company. In conjunction with Disneyland anniversaries and promotions, Alaska has flown several planes with Disney themed liveries, and there are pins to match.

American Express

American credit card company. Sponsor for Walt Disney World and Euro Disney.

AT & T / Bell System

American telecommunications company. Former sponsor of Spaceship Earth and an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.

BNP

Banque Nationale de Paris was a French bank. After a merger in 2000 it is now BNP Paribas. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Buitoni

Italian food company. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Carrefour

A French grocery store chain. In 2010, in conjunction with a Disneyland Resort Paris marketing campaign for New Generation Festival, shoppers could earn pins for every €20 spent.

Chambourcy

A French dairy company; now a subsidiary of Nestlé. Euro Disney sponsor. Contest winners were eligible for pin prizes.

Coca-Cola

American soft drink company.

Dai-ichi Life

Japanese Life Insurance company. Former Tokyo Disney sponsor.

Del Monte

American food company. Former theme park sponsor.

Dole

American food company. Enchanted Tiki Room sponsor.

Esso

Mobile (ExxonMobile after 1999 merger) gas station brand used outside of the US. Euro Disney sponsor. Promotion for free pins after 2 fill-ups.

EuropCar

French rental car company. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Exxon

American oil and gas company. Former theme park sponsor.

Fanta

Soft drink subsidiary of Coca-Cola. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Federal Express

American shipping company. Former sponsor of Space Mountain.

Findus

A French frozen food company. Promotion for buying 2 packages of eligible products to earn one of six pins.

General Motors

American car company. Former sponsor of an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot. Current sponsor of Test Track.

Hawaiian Airlines

American airline company. Promotional partner for the original release of Lilo & Stitch in 2002. Hawaiian Airlines used the characters in their marketing and employees were given pins to wear.

Honda

Japanese car company. Former sponsor of Disneyland fireworks shows.

IBM

American technology company. Former sponsor of Star Tours and an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.

Japan Airlines (JAL)

Promotional pins to coincide with the 100 Years of Magic celebration in 2001.

Kellogg’s

American food company. Promotions for the 100 Years of Magic celebration in 2001, and multiple mail-in promos in 2004-2005.

Kikkoman

Japanese food company. Former theme park sponsor.

Kodak / Eastman Kodak

American camera company. Promotion for WDW pins for eligible film purchases. Also, official sponsor for multiple theme park resorts through the years.

Kraft

American food company. Former theme park sponsor.

La Vache Qui Rit

Brand from French cheese manufacturer, Fromageries Bel. More familiar to US audiences as “The Laughing Cow.”

Lawson

Japanese convenience store chain, which sponsored “Disney on Ice” in Japan.

Lutron

Former sponsor of an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.

Kimberly-Clark

American personal care item company. Promotional gift under their brands Huggies and Kleenex.

Mattel

American toy company. Former sponsor of Euro Disney.

McDonalds

American fast-food company. In the late 1990s, crew members received pins to wear in conjunction for movie promotions for movies like Dinosaur, Tarzan and Toy Story 2.

Met-Life

American insurance company. Former sponsor of the Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot.

Monsanto

American company. Former sponsor of an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.

Morinaga

Japanese candy company. Offered a series of 26 pins in a “Around the World with Mickey” series.

Motorola

Telecommunications company. Former sponsor of an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.

Nestlé

Several Nestlé brands have featured on sponsor pins, especially Euro Disney. These brands include: Carnation, Friskies, Galak, Kit-Kat, Lion, Maggi, Nescafe, Nuts.

NTT Docomo

Japanese telecommunications company. Sponsor for Tokyo Disney Resort.

Orville Redenbacher

Former sponsor of popcorn carts at theme parks.

Oscar Meyer

American food company. Former theme park sponsor.

Peugeot

French car company. Promo for The Lion King.

Phildar

French wool / yarn brand. Promotion to earn one of a set of 12 Disney pins.

Philips

Dutch based conglomerate now focused on healthcare systems, but formerly was one of the largest electronics companies in the world. Sponsor of Euro Disney.

Raytheon

Sponsor of the former Sum of All Thrills attraction in Innoventions.

Renault

French car company. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Sega

Japanese video game company. Distributed several Pooh themed pins via branded Gachapon (capsule) machines, and former sponsor of Innoventions exhibit at Epcot.

Sperry

Former sponsor of the Backstage Magic exhibit in Communicore at Epcot.

Stabilac

Former Belgian dairy company. European sponsor of Walt Disney’s World on Ice.

Sun Trust

American bank. Former bank and sponsor of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Toys R Us

American toy store (defunct, but who knows?). Distributed promotional pin for the 100 Years of Magic if you bought a Disney Monopoly game at the store.

United Technologies

Former sponsor of The Living Seas at Epcot.

Vittel

French bottled water company. Sponsor for Euro Disney.

Xerox

Former sponsor of an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot.
