So here's a silly question. Do you guys keep sets together or break them up on displays or books?

For example in a blind bag or box collection would you keep them all in a group or put say, stitch with my other Stitches, Mickey with other Mickeys.

Like I said, silly but might be interesting to see what folks say. I mostly keep collections together if I get them all, like the Russian stacking dolls or the cutie Star Wars even though I have separate Vader and Anna/Elsa collections. But my Tsum pins go with where they match: Stitch, Mickey, A&E.

Mine go with their respective collections, meaning my Heroes/Villains mystery pins of Hercules and Hades go with my Hercules collection. I only look for the ones that fit my collections rather than try to get a whole set. If I did go for the whole set, I'd like to keep them together, but I'd probably get an extra of each that fits my collections, so there would be one in each place.

I always enjoy hearing how other people organize their pins. Cool thread!

I like to frame my pins with Disney art so I usually break up groups to fit different themes. Originally, I used to try to collect sets but the collection got so theme-broad that I'm concentrating on individual pins now that fit my main collection.

I am a notorious set breaker-upper. I enjoy the act of trading and I find sets more difficult to trade, so usually I will make a few attempts at trading an item as a set, but then I will break it up and either keep or trade the individual pins as I see fit.

Since i don't usually end up collecting whole sets, i usually break them up. The 3 sets that i am planning on finishing are together on their own page. :)
I break up characters too, though, into holidays and other themes- I recently considered starting a collection of Characters with umbrellas :)

My personal collections are all single character based, so I break everything up.

I keep traders together in their original groups though, for easier finding. Usually have pages dedicated to DSF, overseas pins, DA, HMs/OEs, etc..

For me it very much depends. I love HM's, so I normally keep all those together. But if there's one or two of a set that I feel will fit into my own "collections" (i.e. Tink with Nature or books or birds) then I'll go ahead and put those together. :) It all depends on the pin.

I'm more inclined to keep the sets together just because I love how nice they all look together. But that said if I really want to display one of the pins in a set with one of my collections I'll try and find a duplicate first if it's not too hard or else I'll (reluctantly) break up the set.

Interesting. It looks like a mix of what folks do with them. :)

My Russian Stacking doll pins all live together but I might pull my extra Anna trader for my A&E page. I wish I still had the extra Elsa but I made a little girl super happy when she asked to trade with me at the park. Maybe I'll buy a pack next time and hope for another Elsa.
