OK, my major collection is Lilo & Stitch. But I've been blessed with collecting Lilo & Stitch (or spent boatloads of $$), and as a result there are very few Lilo & Stitch pins out there that I still want/need.

My secondary collections were Si & Am, Cats in general, Eric & Ariel together, and Emperor's New Groove. Recently, I've added Winnie the Pooh, Philharmagic, and Star Tours.

What I've noticed recently is that I haven't been getting very many new Lilo & Stitch pins, and that most of my new acquisitions are in Winnie the Pooh, Philharmagic, and Star Tours.

Anyone else have this "problem"?

Yes. Mostly because my main collection is Tangled and it isn't easy. So I decided to collect some new things because I just love collecting haha.

I have had this problem.

I have been neglecting my 'it's a small world' collection lately because I have been getting a lot of Tangled. lol

Yep. I've been getting mostly Peter Pan pins (recently decided to collect) and have been ignoring my Winnie the Pooh and Princess and the Frog collections :)

Trying so hard to focus on my main collection which is Ariel and Eric together but often on ebay you're bidding against 8 different people and once it reaches over £30 I can't bid of it's from the US cause of customs :/ however happy to report I beat out 7 bidders to win the kiss pin and that, 20th anniversary wedding pin and Ariel birthstone pin all arrived in the post today :D that said I didn't think I collected Tinker bell yet seem to have obtained more of her than Ariel xD

With three collectors in the house, each with their own collections, we tend to move from one to another
so every one is happy

EDIT: i don't collect pins but i hope it's ok for me to chime in anyway.

yes, i would say so. i was really into collecting rare alice in wonderland book but bought a cheap alice snow globe locally and ended up going into disney globes.

i am starting to be really fascinated with pins, but i hope i don't start collecting. noooo... gotta save money for all the globes i waaaaaaaaant.

and my alice collection took a little bit of a back seat. i mostly collect anastasia things and just fun random things.

i honestly think it's healthy, to not focus on one thing? doesn't mean you don't love it (omg, i check my books to make sure no nasty bugs came and ate all the pages cause they are old hnng) but it's a nice change. makes for fun shelves in a display case too. for me, i would probably have an alice shelf, an anastasia shelf, possibly an ariel shelf (sort of uh... went crazy with the ariel sephora perfume. so goooood), a fun random shelf, and then just pixar things.

I started to collect some "easier Pins" to motivate me. I have allready a lot of my Beauty and Beast wants. At the end I only need HTF VHTF and i would never get Pins. This is a kind of frustrating story because you feel you are on the haunt for ages and nothing happens. So i save me to get complete GAGA :-DD

I dont really have a main or secondary collection as I collect a few different movies/characters equally really. HOWEVER, I started adding Gaston pins to my BatB collection, and it has taken over. Im working more on getting all of the Gaston pins I can right now, and they now have a separate display outside of the BatB one. LOL

I collect Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, and Stitch (2 arms only). I consider them all a main collection.

Pros - There are so many pins I like, I will never collect them all
Cons - There are so many pins!

It's so hard to pick only one thing to collect! My "main" collection is Nightmare Before Christmas. But then I say that my second and third "main" collections are Pluto and Meeko! I also have a few Beauty and the Beast pins, Snow White pins, Italy related pins, park/ride pins and Haunted Mansion pins. I guess I'm lucky because I dont feel like I need to own every single NBC pin that exists, if I don't like it I don't want it. I do kind of feel like I need more HM pins though so I think I will start to focus on growing that collection and my Meeko collection as well!

Yep! My main collection is Chip n Dale but with so many pins of them & the fact I already have a lot of them I sort of hit a rut. I don't want to pay lots extra to have them the moment they come out either, so I wait.
It means my princess, castle, Star Tours & other little collections have been growing a lot recently! I don't mind though; the more, the merrier!

Just happened to me. I've gotten very picky about which Mulan pins to collect; I just can't afford to go all out. So I've started picking up PTDs. So many of them are so cute and most make decent traders, so it's a fun, flexible collection.

I collect pins from my main collections when they come up - if I can afford them. My main collections are Up, Brother Bear, Kronk and Charlotte. (I'm still hoping for more than one pin of her.) I don't know that I really focus solely on them because the pins just don't show up all that often and, not living near a park, I have to save to afford many of them. Also, with Up being my main collection many of the older pins cost an arm and a leg. Don't worry, I value my arms and legs more than my pins. ;) My secondary collection is just pins that I love so I grab those when they come up (and I can afford them) too.

My 2 main collections are Maleficent and the Haunted Mansion. My secondary collections are Thumper, Figaro, Nightmare and Kitty Yzma... I got my first Kitty Yzma just about a half hour ago (there's only 2 but hey that means I'm a 50% completest) thanks to Li's game :) Easter time is boosting my Thumper collection cuz I'm thinking about bunnies so I keep looking for cute Thumpers :)

thats why when people say they collect 'one thing' I usually get baffled...

as time as gone on Ive gotten down to missing a small handful of pins in my 'original' collections so ive slowly added and branched out to the point I now have 25+ "active" collections some have less than 10 pins but others have hundred +, some trade nights come home heavily skewed with one collection or another but usually end up with atleast one pin for most collections.. Now days I realize that most of my collections that are park themed can be easily described as the 'original lands' Primarily Adventureland/Frontierland and Tomorrowland but when asked what I collect I always just say "shiny things" as some times Ill stumble on a pin that becomes a new collection tomorrow...
