So I arranged an 8 pin for 8 pin trade-

I traded away these pins:

Pin 602: Sitting Dumbo with Blue Hat

Pin 46925: Mickey and Walt Disney's Portrait

Pin 85646: DLR - 2011 Hidden Mickey Series - T-Shirt Collection - Cheshire Cat

Pin 90187: Disney's Best Friends - Mystery Pack - Lock, Shock, and Barrel Only

Pin 90195: Disney's Best Friends - Mystery Pack - Dodger and Oliver Only

Pin 90956: Good Vs Evil - Mystery Pack - Merlin Only

Pin 75095: DLR/WDW - 2010 Hidden Mickey Series - Princess Hearts (Belle)

Pin 95153: DLP Cast Lanyard 7 - Quasimodo, the Hunchback

In exchange for receiving these pins:

Pin 35816: WDW - Cast Lanyard Series 3 - Monorail (Black) With Hidden Mickey[FONT=arial, sans-serif]

Pin 37222: WDW - Cast Lanyard Series 3 - Monorail (Blue) With Hidden Mickey

Pin 37275: WDW - Cast Lanyard Series 3 - Monorail (Green) With Hidden Mickey

Pin 41629: WDW - Cast Lanyard Collection 4 - Monorails (Purple with Hidden Mickey)

Pin 51173: WDW - Hidden Mickey Collection - Monorails (Silver)

Pin 58540: WDW - Hidden Mickey 2007 Series 2 - Monorail Cockpit (Gold)

Pin 58592: WDW - Hidden Mickey 2007 Series 2 - Monorail Cockpit (Coral)

Pin 89274: Jerry Leigh - Belle's World - Beauty and the Beast Group

Now I know that these are very commonly faked pins, so I included in my email:
"I NEED them to be authentic. Here at DLR there are a LOT of fake WDW hidden mickey pins and I would really like authentic ones. I can guarantee to you all the pins that I trade are authentic."

The trader responded with:
"Here is the official list and they are all authentic"

I even added in the email before we exchanged addresses:
"I can promise you that all of my pins are authentic, I have examined them very closely, they all have the glossy finish and none of the dips or flaws that unauthentic pins are known for. I am going to presume that the pins you have, you are confident that they are authentic."

Well, when the pins arrived, they were not as promised. 5 out of 7 of the monorail pins were fake, and 2 out of 7 were not the pins I asked for (one was from the DLR and the other was a color, but of which I did not need)

I contacted them with my issues and the trader has decided to send back 7 out of 8 of my pins, which I am perfectly fine with, these things happen. But the trader also included in the last email:

"Please send me back the pins"
Which is where I get uneasy. I feel annoyed that I have to pay double postage just to get my pins back because they made a mistake? I mean... they have my pins and I suppose I will have to in order to get my pins back but I just don't think that it is right.

Has anyone been in this situation before by chance? Or does anyone have any advice? I ave not answered the last email (I only got it a few minutes ago) and I don't know how to handle it.

This is what's turning so many people away from pin trading. You send out real Disney pins and get back fake pins, it's horrible anymore!! Just feel lucky that you are getting your pins back. There are traders out there that would ignore your emails after you tell them that the pins they sent were fake and you are stuck with them then. If you trade through pinpics (and they are not a member of DPF) then you can't even leave them negative feedback. I feel your pain but there's not much you can do about it anymore. Make sure you keep this persons name in a file so you know not to trade with them again. Just my opinion of what I would do.

I had a very similar situation of someone sending the wrong pin and when I asked them to cover the postage for their mistake they became very rude and nasty. I agreed to paying the postage but that they would have to send their pin first. They agreed and then never sent the pin so I at least didn't lose out completely but I have a pin that was not a fair trade and not one I needed. All you can do at this point is pay the postage. I would completely reverse the trade and get all my pins back and then put them on a list of individuals to never deal with again.

I could complain to pinpics, but all they can do is ban them... and they will make a new account... I mean... unless they have another problem it's practically impossible to tell.
