Help Us Test the New DPF Public Pin Trading Board!​


I've been working on something exciting behind the scenes, and I think we're ready to let the community take it for a spin!

Introducing the DPF Pin Trading Board: a dedicated virtual trading app built just for our community!

If you've ever walked up to a trading board at a park — or spotted one at a Box Lunch or Hot Topic — you already know exactly what this is supposed to feel like. A corkboard covered in pins, open to anyone passing by, where you can see what's up for trade at a glance and make your move. That's the experience I'm (kind of) trying to bring online for us.

Forum threads are great, but they've never quite captured that feeling. Posts get buried, trades get lost in PM's…the usual. The DPF Pin Trading Board is ann attempt to fix that — a dedicated virtual trading board built specifically for our community, designed to feel (almost) like the real thing.

Before we go live, I need your help to kick the tires and tell me what you think!

This is an open beta, and we want real DPF members putting it through its paces.

What is it?​

The Pin Trading Board is a standalone trading app at pinboard.disneypinforum.com that lets you post pins you have for trade and browse what other members are offering — all in one clean, dedicated space.

The best part? It's fully connected to your DPF account.

Just log in with your existing DPF credentials — no new account, not another password to remember — you already have access through your DPF forum account!

What can you do on the DPF Pin Board?​

  • 📌 Post trades — List pins you're offering and browse what the community has available
    • NOTE: Currently pins are only able to be added for trade via Pin & Pop ID. The text "search" features during listing your trade are currently not fully working or working as you'd expect. By default, text search will only search for pins that have been listed for trade, which is by design for this version.
  • 💬 Express trade interest — A single click notifies the other trader via Private Message right here on DPF!
  • ✅ Accept or decline trades — Respond to incoming trade interest (partial trades supported)
  • 📤 Input tracking information — insert tracking information for your trades and track your pin mail right from your trade listings
  • 🎯 Build your Wishlist — Add pins you're hunting so others know what you're after

A note on this testing phase:​

This is an open beta, so a few important things to keep in mind:
  • All data posted during testing will be wiped once the feedback period concludes. There may be additional round of testing between data wipes.
  • The board is still actively being developed — you may run into errors or rough edges
  • …and that's exactly why we need you here!
If something breaks, behaves oddly, or just feels off, please report it in this thread. Your feedback will directly shape the final product.

How to participate:​

Head over to pinboard.disneypinforum.com, log in with your DPF account, and start exploring.

Treat it as a "trading simulator" during this testing period and go wild!

You should test out posting a trade, browse listings, update your wish list, send some trade offers to other members — send me (Cicada) a trade offer while you're at it!

I'm intentionally not dropping a how-to guide here — I want to see how the experience feels when you just dive in.

If something isn't intuitive, that's feedback I need to hear. Please test all functions and try to break it or find anything that isn't working as intended.

So I had all of my ducks in a row (teeheehee) that I was trading away and all the ducks I was searching for. I thought it could be like (I'll trade you this duck for that duck) but it looks like the offer being made is for all my ducks. And I had switched it to open trade after I listed all the ducks I was searching for, because I'm open to other pins beside ducks) but then my ISO ducks disappeared.
 
I'm having trouble logging in to the trading board. I get a screen that says "logged in as Sithathoriunet" and "requested scope" which I'm given the option to authorize or deny, but no matter which one I choose I just get bumped back to the landing page where it says I need to log in.

Can you explain the first question a bit more?

I can see about adding a place to add a link to pin & Pop profiles, but the idea is that it’s supposed to be tied/integrated deeply into the forum (the only way to login/trade is with a your forum account, all trade communication is tied to forum PMs, etc). — and there’s already the ability to add a link to pin & pop profiles via your forum profile

Can you provide a screenshot? I didn’t encounter that in testing. Maybe try an incognito window or clearing all cache/cookies and trying to login again?
 
I wasn’t able to easily figure out what the pin was on the offer board. The name was cut off so I couldn’t see the pin and pop ID. It would be nice to click the yellow box the pin is in and have it jump to the info about the pin, like how the pin listed functions. I had to come to my DMs to see the exact pin instead of just making a decision on the offer board itself. Hopefully that made more sense?
 
for now, i hope this is a decent fix.

If you're reviewing proposed trades, clicking on the offer's pin description should take you to the pin & pop page for that pin, so you can view additional details.

I just incorporated theme switching; it's at the very bottom, but the "light theme" palette isn't complete yet, so some elements may be hard to read with low contrast (at least when I was testing)

This is meant to be its own trading space for our forum, not a replacement for virtual events or pin & pop Trade Arcades -- remember trades are public, and this is meant to "feel" like a trading board where you can browse and make offers on any listed pins, or make specific trade requests

The ability to browse all wishlists has been added;

Click the "Wishlists" link at the top to view all wishlists — you can also search by username
