Help With eBay/Pay Pal Dispute Please

I purchased a few pins from a reputable eBay seller a few weeks ago and the seller shipped out the pins the very next day. However when I track the package, it still says its being "processed at the original sorting facility". Pins that I purchased from other sellers at a later date have already arrived so I was getting worried.

I messaged the seller who was very nice about the whole thing and suggested that I set up a claim on eBay in case the package was lost through USPS so we can have protection as buyer/seller.

Has anyone here ever have to open a dispute or claim on eBay/Paypal before? What happens now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this has never happened to me before and I am at a lost of what to do.

I order a lot and with the USPS there could be a delay from weather or other conditions and also USPS tracking is not great. I would just wait a few more days. Unless you bought shipping insurance there is nothing you really can do...

I have had many cases opened on ebay, some by me as a buyer, some by the seller on me, that's happened when I've gotten busy and had to pay, but as a buyer opening a case it's only protecting you against fraud. If the seller is suggesting that, than he is definitely a good seller as he is only protecting you and themself. I would take their advice and if the pins show up, no harm no foul, and if the PO loses them then you will get a full refund plus shipping costs. It's not a strike against you or the seller, it just makes things easier when a problem does arise. Good luck with it and I hope things work out. As it's been said, the PO loses stuff all of the time, unfortunately for what we pay, but packages show up again and while it may take some time it's a real possibility, so if you want to wait another week before you open a case that's up to you. You only have 60 days to open a case and only 60 days for ebay's help in this matter so don't wait too long for the package to show up on it's own.
