I was at WDW this past weekend for the Dumbo pin, was unable to go any earlier (hubby sufficiently reprimanded for not taking me day of release) and although I knew there wouldn't be much left, I asked to look through what was left and was handed 5 zebras 6 hippos peeking out of the water and a bunch of hyenas and 3 giraffes, all identical? I thought that these were supposed to be all different, or did I miss something????????

Film runs at 24 frames per second. And a lot of animation duplicated an image twice. So in one second of movie, you would have 12 images. The images wouldn't change that much, so while you might have thought they looked identical (and maybe 2 of them were) the rest were probably a fraction of a second different. So there would have been small movements that would be hard to notice.
