They posted on their Facebook page last night that they went to the Coronado release and have the pins in stock and going through their waiting list...the pins that were $11.95 (before their Passholder discount) are marked $29.99!!! And the $13.95 pins, again...$13.95BEFORE their discount, are $39.99! What the crap! If that's the case, I'm offering all 10 pins I got last night for the bargain price of $1,000...any takers?? Bahahahahahahaha!

That is just plain ridiculous and greedy. I would put a price of $20 max individually on all those pins. Yes it was an annoying release with the huge line (I was in line for 2 hours and considered leaving a few times), but it wasn't super hard to get. In fact, I met up with a cast member friend afterwards who has that 40 percent discount and she was able to get me a few more pass-holder pins at the very end of the night around 845 pm. And nothing was sold out. It sucks that people turn around and sell this for profit, it makes them look like a complete pin shark.

Sharking is deliberately trying to cheat people out of better pins and/or their money. If one buys or trades for the pins and sells them for a certain amount, and you feel that the price is too high, no one is forcing you to buy them. Also, just because someone sets a high selling price, it doesn't mean they'll be successful in selling it. It may make them greedy in YOUR opinion, but obviously not in everyone else's. It's your OPINION, not necessarily a fact.

I also notice you (and others) who complain about this issue rarely complain about Disney's "greed" in their selling of pins, which they have manufactured in China for slave wages, and sell for a huge markup, percentage-wise. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. So let's stop pointing fingers and name calling.

Do not want to see another Blow up about people selling pins at higher than retail cost.

Gonna say the same thing i said on the last thread that was about pin reselling. I do not endorse heavy mark up, but I will not complain about it anymore either. I have other things in my life to worry about.

As stated before::
Some pins can only be gotten from certain places.
Some pins can be bought anywhere.
Some pins are limited edition.
Some pins are open edition.

some folks buy just to sell.
some folks sell so they can buy.
some folks sell to pad their wallet.
Some folks sell because they came on hard times.

Some pins sell for below retail.
Some pins sell for above retail.
Some pins sell for crazy amounts.
Some pins you would have to pay people to take from you.

And someone, somewhere, is always going to be unhappy with AT LEAST one of the statements above.

If they want to try to re-sell the pins they bought yesterday at mark up, that's not my concern. I just do not buy the pins from people who i think marked up to much.

Making a thread to draw attention to it only does 2 things:

  1. Causes more people to look at their webpage. Which for resellers, that's a plus, not a minus.
  2. Causes the age old argument to lift its ugly head out of the slop trough.

I agree. They can sell for whatever they wish. I've no problem with that. Its their business practices I had a problem with. A. No notification until several emails/a week later they cancelled an order B. Cancelling orders to fulfill higher priced orders and even baiting and switching those orders for more money C. Sending out an cut/paste email referring to the reason they didnt get their pins was shark ebay scammers. This store doesnt have ebay fees to deal with nor any way to leave the negative feedback I feel they deserve. If they are an ACTUAL store I can understand maybe a little. But if they have no more overhead than an ebay seller, shame on them. I contemplated posting their email here so everyone could see how they used every excuse in the book to cancel my order, but alas, I learned my lesson to avoid them.

I had a good laugh at this one! I've got some of those...lol... Then again, the weird thing is, I'll have a pin or pins that've been in my book for literally years, and then *poof!* I go to a PTN or (before I moved) I'd be in the parks and someone would look at that pin and say to me, I've been looking for that pin for forever! I am of course most happy to trade with them!
