Hi!:wavey:
It's been way too long since I've made any trades! The requests from the old Pin Pics site have dried up completely and although I've been getting some on the new Pin Pics, I haven't figured out how to check people's feedback on there since the messages don't include their emails. Also I know a lot of the people I love to trade with on DPF are no longer using Pin Pics anyway, so it's hard to look for people who want my traders. So how are you guys trading now? Or are you just waiting patiently for a new database to be ready?

Update- new PP programmers have done some tweaking, & I have been successful in sending out TA's. Yay!!!

I try sending TAs from new PP site. Works about 1/3 of the time I still send out TAs from the RELIABLE EASY TO USE OLD site.o

My last three trades were on facebook and they all worked out great. I was sorta expecting to get ripped off and I'm still a little scared to trade on there.

I'm only looking to make trades on here. I check the pinpics of members for matches or make a thread. It isn't going that well though. most don't even reply on my messages. but I hope a new database will fix this

I still use the OLD PinPics site. The new site is very confusing and with no e-mail addressess to check references, or, e-mails coming to you with offers (you have to go to the PinPics site) it is very frustrating.

If I get an offer from the new PinPics site, I tell the person to send me an e-mail to my AOL account and I work off that information, thus I have an e-mail address to check avoiding the new site altogether. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Pretty much all the trades I do are through here - messaging people when they have a pin I'm looking for, or vice versa. I post in the trading threads when I get the UK releases, which occasionally works but not always! Still haven't had any bites for the recent Lion King 20th anniversary pin, boo!

I am like Mike S.; I get requests on the new site and still a few from the old. My Trade Requests have pretty much dried up, but I'm sure it's because of what is left on my wants list, not necessarily due to the sites not working properly. I, too, ask for emails, and to move the trade/negotiation to email. I also tell the trader that I will leave a reference only if I have an email; otherwise, they collect no positive feedback. So far, everything has been good. There do seem to be some new traders who are hiding behind the anonymity of the new site and do not want to share emails or name, so I do not trade with those. I, too, need to take the time to initiate some requests, and maybe start a new collection, which might generate more requests. LOL.

I have a really hard time using pin pics, no one ever gets my requests so i just use it to compare what i have and want compared to the person i want to trade with on here, on Facebook or on ig

so far Facebook, Instagram, and this website. The pin trading community in Nor Cal seems to be getting a bit more active so its easier to trade in person as I don't like trading lower LE's over the mail and I've been lucky in not having to deal with any of the problems most people have with trading on social network sites.

Wish Disneyland would host more PTN's so I could convince the Mrs to let us go down

I never thought of asking for an email so I could get references. That's a great idea. I don't understand why they don't just have the new site send you emails. The other problem I have with new pin pics is that it's hard to find a pin when I search for it. I was trying to add the Pin 99775: Characters & Cameras Mystery Collection - Chip to my owns, but I couldn't remember the actual name of the series so I just typed "Chip camera." On the new site pages and pages of pins came up - every pin with Chip OR a camera. :/ No way was I sifting through all of those. So I went to the old site and typed the same thing. There, only 27 pins came up so I spotted the one I wanted immediately. I know I am late to the party to complain about it because I thought I could go on using the old one forever and didn't even really bother getting familiar with it until now.

I never really traded through PP or DPP (with some exceptions). Due to some bad experiences I've turned to collecting instead of trading (meaning I just buy), but if I trade it's through Facebook or the forum.

^^^^This.

I have tried the FB trading, but I seem to run into all the new people, with no feedback, don't know how to package pins, the list goes on. So, unless I trade with people I have with in the past, I'm just not trading.

for me I will never use the new pinpics. I don't like how they took an easy to use website and made it difficult to use and also not have it work properly. Hopefully before the old site goes away a new non pinpics site will be up and running at full speed. So for me it is either old pinpics, trade here or trade with people I already know.

Well, for us newbies, PinPics works better. Here, we have to make 30 non-trading posts before we can post on trade boards. Also, on PinPics, I can add what I want to trade, here I get page not found messages over and over when I try to access that page. So while I agree that PinPics is confusing and not user friendly at all, at least I can actually trade there.

FYI - this isn't meant as a rant, just statement of fact.

I don't trade through the mail at all since my wife doesn't want me to give out our home address and I haven't had a chance to get a PO Box either. So I will trade in person with cast members at DLR or just buy from local (IE) people who I can meet in person.

The links no under our names no longer work because dpp has been taken down thanx to pinpics.

I can't really do much trading. What I want is rare. What I have for trade is not desired by many, particularly those with pins I want. I guess I'll have to eBay my trades and use the money to by what I want--the few times they actually come up for sale.

Pin pics is awful for trading. I have received three trade requests, made two almost efforetless trades, one to England, and on the third I had to chase down the "requster" to get him to respond to my answer. On the other side i have made over 15 trade requests over the last month and have not gotten one response. Not even a "drop dead, you're nuts". I'm gonna start posting more on the trade section here.

I just watch the trade boards here, and hope I come across somebody with matches to my wants/trades. It is becoming a very rare occurrence, I can't recall when my last trade was... But I still check periodically and hope I can get lucky.
