Hello,

The entire family started collecting pin's on our trip at WDW this past July. I will be going back in June for my honeymoon but not sure what to bring to trade with. For sure I will be bringing rack pins but not sure what to do when it comes to LE's, Disney Auction or WDI Pin's. I would love to trade with other collector's at the parks but bringing any pins at all on the plane makes me nervous so I was trying to limit what I bring. Is it worth while to bring the better pins and try to find collector's to trade with or should I just stick with the basic pins and trading with the cast members? Also I did see another thread that spoke about bringing the pin's onto the plane as a carry on? My biggest fear is checking my luggage in and then trying to go through security only to be told my carry on can't go on because of the pins. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are usually traders at DLR who trade their LEs varying from Auctions to Shopping to WDI to DSF, etc on a consistent basis... at least from what I've experienced. If you're trying to get those harder to attain pins you'd probably need your LEs as ammunition for trade so it wouldn't hurt to bring a few in case you run into someone at the trading areas who has something you might want. Me being a new trader, I like to bring all my pins since there's not much but they do vary from Auctions to DSF to you get the picture! I say bring em!

bring anything you are willing to trade away for "the right pin"

don't bring pins in you collection, you will refuse for trading, no matter the offer. I dont bring my thumpers or pixie hollows.... but I do bring my princesses.

If you bring keepers they should be on a lanyard you're wearing and make it known they are keepers. Only offer pins for trade you would be willing to trade. If you're going to DLR bring WDW HM's, you might find some folks looking to complete a set and they need one or two. Trading with Cast members is easy but make sure to look at the edges of the pin for rough parts or the paint to make sure it's not dipped in. Also, anytime you shop, look for a PWP item like the current ticket pins or the starter sets. Those are some of the cheapest pins you'll find that are guaranteed legit. And who knows, if you get a Jack, Stitch, or Tink ticket you might be able to get a better pin for it in trade at the barrels.

I bring some basic pins to trade to anyone, some LEs for my most-wanteds, and a bunch of basics so my mother and best friend (who aren't big pin traders for themselves) can have the fun of swapping pins around with cast members all day!

Right now there really isn't a place to trade with other guests at WDW unless you make plans ahead of time to meet up with other traders. In that case I would only bring what you want to trade with CM's. Have a fun honeymoon!
