How do you post pictures here?

HEEEEEELP!!!!!
I have tried reading the Help Forum on how to post pictures on here & I cannot figure it out, about ready to pull my hair out.
Can some kind person out there please help me out?

I read you cannot upload pics directly from my computer, so I opened a photobucket account and uploaded my picture on it.
I copied & inserted the URL but all I get on my post is the little box instead of a picture, when I go to preview it, all I still get is the same little box, no picture.
Then I read that you need to paste the URL between
[ i m g ] PASTE IT HERE [ / i m g ]
I tried that too & it did not work, WHAT am I doing wrong? Can you help????

Did you take out the spaces between the brackets and the letters so they run together?

I haven't tried posting an image that way but wanted to make sure you knew to remove the spaces (if you didn't put them there yourself to make sure the code didn't disappear).

Okay, let me get this straight...

1) To post a pic, it must have a url, like Google drive or something similar?

2) I can post a pic even if my posting permissions say "you may not post attachments"?

3) I should follow the directions in an earlier post above, even if using a Mac?

1. Yes, an URL. What you can do is click on the "helper" that's next to the red x (the icon right between that and the one that looks like a film) and it says "insert image" when you move your mouse on top of it. Anyhow, that will help you with the IMG links.
