PIN & POP How does pin and pop rating work?

So I bought some limited edition pins that were half off at palm the other day, and went to add them to pin and pop and saw they were considered legendary? And I'm so confused, how does that rating system work? Is anything limited edition considered legendary?

Yeah, I find the names misleading as you would think they are indicative of how scarce, in demand, or valuable a pin is. But it's none of those. It's solely based on the size of the edition. I believe legendary are in the LE300-400 range.

Most of my LE pins fall into the "epic" category.

These are roughly where I have estimated the LE sizes:
Mythic 1-99
Legendary 100-499
epic 500-2000
rare LEs from 2001
uncommon - limited release
common - OE

The labels don't have anything (from what I can tell) to speak to how popular a pin is to other traders. An uncommon pin might be highly sought after and a legendary might not be popular at all. If one of your trading factors is based on LE size this metric may help you to assess if the pins are of a similar LE size during an event. But that is only one factor that contributes to pin trade value.
