How loose must a pin post be before it's disclosed? Opinions?

Hello everyone! Lately I've been receiving a sizable amount of pins, from both trades and sales, that have loose pin posts - some slightly loose, some loose to the point of falling off, and some in the middle. None of these details were disclosed before the transaction. So this brings me to the question: how loose does a pin post have to be before it should be brought to the attention of the buyer/other trader? Should any loose-ness at all be disclosed, or should it have to be extremely loose?

I personally think that it's morally correct to inform the person on the other side of the transaction of any issues with a pin, but you all may have a different view, and I'd love to hear it! What are your opinions/personal policies on this?
 
I ask up front, before the trade, the condition the pin is in, including the solidity of the pin's post. Any movement at all cancels the trade. I in turn will not trade a pin with post movement, unless the trader just has to have the pin (usually a very rare pin).

Condition should always be stated up front and not assumed, JUST MY OPINION before I get jumped on. Tho, over the years, I have had many people get upset with me when I ask up front. Funny, since about half that time, their pin has major issues of some kind they weren't going to disclose.

I may seem/sound harsh, ect. But better to know up front before spending money on postage to and back, if the other trader will even trade back. And a bunch of disappointment.
 

I agree with you, for the most part - the only part in which our opinions aren't similar is the fact that, if a pin post is a tad loose, the trade is canceled. Personally, I would still trade for the pin, especially if it was on my wants, but I would expect the person on the other end to value the pin at a little lower than the value of the same pin in mint condition. I definitely wouldn't put out as much as I usually would to trade/buy it.

But on the rest, I think we have matching views. The reason I brought this up is because lately I've received a lot of pins with loose posts from trades/sales on here, eBay, and IG without disclosure.
 
I think you should disclose any defect a pin has. It is, however, possible that a person does not notice something or that something happens during the postal process.
 
I've already learned my lesson about asking for details on the condition of pins. I think I would be pretty upset if I got some with posts as loose as you describe. I've gotten some with bent posts, and even that bothered me a little. The thing is, I take really good care of my stuff, to the point of all my pins being in basically mint condition, so it can be frustrating when you trade mint pins away and receive damaged or really worn out stuff in return. Again, it was my bad for not asking and I've since learned my lesson. But I really am a "people pleaser", and hate confrontation, so it's something I really have to work on.
 
I report all condition issues and send pics and ask for acknowledgment from the trader/buyer. I once purchased an LE50 pin it arrived with a very bent post and no damage to the envelope but very poor packing. The seller agreed to a refund but only after I paid for it to be returned...very fishy behavior, unprofessional and bad karma. Since I agreed to the refund I could not leave any feedback. I never want a trader/ buyer to feel this way about me.
