I bought a few pins from someone here and since i have paid I haven't gotten an update...it's been 3 days. I have sent a few PM's but no response. I understand that people have lives beyond this board...but at what point do you escalate a case through paypal??

Hmmm... I guess my first thoughts were that is depends on a lot of factors. What is the seller's feedback look like? If there is a lot of feedback and it's positive, that buys more time. How much money is at risk? Lower $, buys more time. Has the seller posted on the boards in the last 3 days? If not, buys a little time. Did you 'gift' the money or pay by credit card and eat the paypal fees? Credit card protection buys a little time. If all these things align, I'd give the seller a good 7-10 days to make good on the sale. If not, 5-7 days is not unreasonable IMHO.

good feedback...no recent posts....lives within the same state, so 5-7 days is way long....was asked to have the money sent as a "gift" but I sent more to cover the fee to not send as a gift. I think I am just anxious to get the pins! but I wasnt sure what is "normal" in terms of turn around time. Thanks guys!!! I feel a bit better now!

Haunted Mission - I think that the issue is that the seller has not responded to the buyer in 3 days. An update PM with a DC# is commonly sent after payment is received and the package is shipped. My numbers are based on response to payment, not on delivery time.

mylittleguy - Vacations, business trips, illnesses and many other everyday issues may cause delay. Also, some sellers only get to the post office once a week; this can slow things down quite a bit depending on when they make their shipments. I really don't think you have a problem after only 3 days, especially if you didn't 'gift' the money. Paypal is buyer's friend, not the sellers.

The USPS postal service is awful right now. I am constantly sending things to my truck drivers that aren't too far away. Transit time has doubled and tripled depending on where it is going.

I suggest you read my Pin Buying Thread here:

3 days, does that include today? That is, you sent payment on Tuesday and today's Friday? And when did you send payment? In the morning, afternoon, or evening. I don't count the payment date as the first day of anything, especially if it's sent late at night, long after I've already shut my computer off (which I stop using the computer around 7 pm pacific).

Even if it's in the same state, that doesn't mean that the pin will show up within 3 days of payment. Oddly, things I ship out of the state seem to arrive a lot quicker than things I ship to Northern California (I'm in So Cal.)

I think you have 45 days for buyer's protection. BTW, the seller has 7 days to ship for seller protection (or at least they did at one time.)

Thanks Starry...I have since heard from the seller and I appreciate all the input and I will read your thread! It was a $50 transaction, so that is why I was really nervous...not a $1-$2 pin.
