Finally got some add-ons for some old build-a-pins I have been holding on to. Do any of you pin veterans know the official way to attach the add on? I never actually saw this done at Disney since they were retired long before I started collecting pins.

Thanks!

Well,

Disney had this special machine to attach them..They had to do it right there in the store..and you could never change it out for another add on..so...I don't think there is any way for you to get them attached. sorry......

Oh, that's how they did it. Okay, thanks for that. I guess I can glue it or maybe solder it?

Take it to the park, maybe they still have something that can do it or ask what they reccommend!

I will try that. Although I spoke with cast members at dtd about build-a-pins a few months ago. They had no idea what I was talking about. :|

Yeah, the last time I saw them for sale was at a SALSA sale, and they had the machine there- I don't think they're around anymore. If you talk to someone who does that sort of work for a living (metal, welding, etc.), they might be able to find a way to do it. I don't know if a hammer would do it, and I'd be wary to tell anyone to try it themselves.

Mine are going on to my Duffy's lanyard, since I can't attach them to the backs anymore.

My Dad saw the machine for sale at Property Control at WDW a few years back, so the machines are probably long gone.

Machine looked like a drill press and they are long gone from Disney property. I asked about them months ago at WDW DTD pin center and the CM's had no idea what I was talking about lol!!

Might ask a jeweler or metal shop person?
