HUGE pins?

Hey all... So next to lanyards in most of the parks I'm seeing what looks like giant pins/keychains.. Are these to clip on the bottom of a pin lanyard so it doesn't turn? It looks like a big pin.

Yes, it's a lanyard medallion, it anchors the lanyard. Sometimes I hook a keychain on there, it's a little lighter.

Note that they are quite heavy!! I make my own lanyards and I keep a ring on the end so that I can always add something like a medallion but....they do wear on you after a while. That said, we bought one on our last trip because it was the only way to get a Perry pin that came with it.

The lanyard metals are nice, but sometimes they clink against my belt as I walk with my lanyard on.
