Idea for Pin Trading in Disneyland

For me I like the Aladdin Oasis location. It has plenty of space and it is in a great location. Afterall the bathrooms are real close by . Plus there is the Bengal BBQ near there and the Trading Post pin store is not too far as well. Last lastly we all know that the shade and the isolation away from the crowds makes for a relaxing peacefull pin trading experience.

I was there last monday and it just had a bunch of people eating and resting in there. but there have been other days were I've seen it closed off.

I think Aladdin Oasis location is better. I don't think I saw any tables though. Just benches around the perimeter. The other one is very isolated. I don't think you would have anyone just stopping by.

I think the Oasis is a terrible idea. it is not reliable. We want high traffic areas with tables. I think Fly 'n Buy is pretty set, that it is a great location. We just need to convince people to go there and trade. Once a few weekends of good trading happens it will naturally be the new spot. At DL, you need to be like Jolly Holiday, or those tables near Tomorrowland Terrace, or maybe even by the Mint Julep place near the NOS train station, etc. Those kinds of places where people can walk, bathrooms are close, food too. But I really like the Fly n' Buy place. it's close to 2 park entrances/exits, bathrooms, Starbucks, Ice Cream, restaraunts, 2 pin stores with LE pins, rides with fast passes we can grab, lots of tables and best of all they are in close eye view of probably 100% of the guests that go to DCA. It's one of the main routes, not an off-shoot. Those tables are not used very often, they have chairs to sit in so no standing around all day. They have alcohol at DCA. Um, why is there even another spot being considered? haha.

Flo's V8 is great for foot traffic but the table space is limited (which I think Disney would not like us camping at!), it's farther from the entrance, and it's kind of a pain to get in and out of there quickly. The food area, pacific wharf has TONS of tables but it's not a great place for trading. Kind of out of the way. Although I love walking into Cars Land from that direciton.

The pavillion way in the back is way too far off the beaton path, too far to walk back to, just like Big Thunder Ranch was a dud. WeHo worked so well because it was a major route, near a pin store, bathrooms, some shade from trees, near the entrance, etc. LGM was about as far from the central hub as you'd want to be for pin trading. I think I might try to do a gathering over in that forum for Fly N Buy on a weekend. Get lots of people there, see how it works.

I know what you mean Mark and I agree with the Fly N' Buy idea. He only problem is if someone is only there one day and they have to choose between the two parks most would choose Disneyland.

in the meantime...

As much as I love the petition to get our tables back, we need a spot in the meantime. Does anyone have a problem with just sitting at the food tables in the area right above the old spot at LGM? I visited right after they took the tables away and sat there. I'm coming again in February and would love to have a temporary spot settled on!
