Description:
I am looking for information regarding this oversized 3D-style pin featuring Goofy in a 90s streetwear outfit (bucket hat and "Coke" t-shirt).

Key Features:
Front: Features the "Always Coca-Cola" logo, a contour bottle, and the American flag. Text: "Since 1886".
Backstamp: * "The Coca-Cola Company - Atlanta, USA"
• "With permission of Walt Disney Company"
Limited Edition: 01/05 (Engraved)
Backing: Double rubber/clutch back.
Condition: Excellent / Near Mint.

Question: Due to the extremely low edition size (Only 5 pieces worldwide), I haven't been able to find this pin in any standard database (PinPics/PinStack). Is this an Executive Gift, a Prototype, or a Special Event trophy from the mid-90s? Any help with its history or estimated value for insurance/sale would be greatly appreciated

LE5...wow — Thanks for sharing it here!

Just my .02:

To the right person, it could be worth a lot… (thousands?)

…probably.

There’s no real record of it in any db’s, no sold auctions anywhere (eBay, Hake’s, Van Eaton) and no really comparable pins or even similar-enough to even get a feel for the value. And I don't know if there are any other pins with such a small run, putting this in its own class. What would affect its value positively, is if there's a history/provenance ("chain of custody") for the pin, so if you can get some more info on its origins, i'm sure it'd fetch a decent amount at a specialty auction.

My thoughts:
  • LE5 is insane and there’s a chance the other 4 no longer exist (lost/destroyed/trashed/sitting in a drawer somewhere, etc.) -- with such a small edition size, these were obviously not meant for the general public.
  • I like the idea that these would have probably been some sort of corporate gift to the key people involved with a Disney/Coke deal or something, and the ‘94 stamp aligns with the “Always Coca-Cola” campaign at the time, but maybe someone at the Coca-Cola memorabilia museum knows something about it? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • In addition to being LE5, your example is numbered 01/05, which probably commands a premium if the other 4 still exist, and assuming there are enough collectors for them.
I’d encourage you to add it to the databases like Pin & Pop and PinPics, just so there’s some documentation out there for it!
