If you are going to the Pixar Pin Event @ WDW, what will you be looking to trade for?
... My experience at past Disney pin events has been that a larger amount of time was spent in line at the trading boards, grab bag, fishing, and other trading activities, than sitting at a table doing face-to-face pin trading.
I agree... I have made most of my trader-trades, at the events, on line and it has allowed for the time to pass quicker (than just sitting and twiddling my thumbs...lol)

This will be first event I've been to. Do you think 1 book of traders will suffice?

In general, I think it really comes down to several factors:

1. How are you getting to the event? For some people, taking more than 1-2 pin bags just isn't an option because they're flying and space/weight IS a major issue. Or they just don't want to have to CARRY around more than 1-2 pin bags from their resort, to the event, and back (while the event itself is mercifully air conditioned, the same cannot be said great outdoors which is extremely hot and humid).

2. Your individual trading style. Do you prefer to 'set up camp' and have others come to you or do you like to roam around and seek out trades? If you favor the former, then take as many pin bags as you can (and the event will permit you to have); if the latter, I would recommend no more than 1-2 if for no reason than you have to carry them with you. If you plan on doing the trading activities/games, like btowndude, I found myself bringing a book with me and making trades while queueing for my turn.

3. It's really a question, sometimes, of quality vs quantity. If you have the 'right' pins, sometimes you just need one book. If you have the 'wrong' pins, you could have 10 books and be unable to make a trade. If you're only bringing 1 book, try asking in advance what people are looking for so you could try to make sure to bring those pins or similar. There is no guarantee you'll be able to make many (or any) trades, but you should be increasing your chances of having a successful event.

The most important thing is to have fun. If you have any additional event-based questions, don't hesitate to ask.
