I had the worst luck this past week, the UP valentines pin being shown, Hidden Mickey UP pins this Pixar mystery set and the PTN pins from Paris with the suprise Thumper Jumbo so it all feels like a HUGE :facepalm: and since the Valentines pin I been thinking over UP and thinking is it worth it?

The person who normally helps me can't help me with the pixar set and told people are trading UP for UP and in-trading to complete their sets. So, I think for now I'm bowing out of UP pins as when my traders suck none of them would be good enough and I have none of the popular themes like PODM or Tangled and I only have access to UK pins. Maybe in a few months I may come back to UP but for now.

Please don't say I am over-reacting it just after an UP release last year left a bad feeling I dread any new UP releases and I'm tired of that feeling, In the past people helped out etc and last year people just want more and more money etc and it just not worth it anymore.

(no PM's as not selling any just putting a stop on them)
 
They don't scare me lolol just the prices are getting more crazier with each release and I have no ties to help me out like other people do so all I am left with is ebay andto buy them and it just can't be done that way anymore for me :cry:
 
Sometimes it is good to take a step back and maybe have a break. As you said, you are not selling what you already have so that is a good thing. Maybe after a little time the hysteria will die down and you can go back and get the pins you missed at prices or trades that don't break the bank.
 
I so understand the feeling. At some point you just say, I cannot pay anymore. For me its Tangled and I had to dig into my collection for the upcoming release and give away something dear to me. But I think instead of paying that is just the way it is going to be from now on, either that or stop collecting it which I don't want to.

I think you should make a beautiful frame for UP, something behind glass so you won't be tempted to buy new ones and mess up the display. I've thought about doing this with Tangled many time but I haven't reached my breaking point quite yet... Soon though I imagine.
 
I'm also an Up lover.. it seems DSF always has the pins I love. I live about 45 mins from Disney World. If a up pin comes out this way (rare) just pm me and ill pick up an extra one up... Hang in there.. I understand my favorite movie and impossible to get the pins!

There is nothing wrong with being patient. There will be tons and tons of the hidden mickey pins, so those should be attainable. There is a anxiety-driven frenzy with the mystery set, but as the locals complete their sets that will wane as well. DSF pins are a little trickier, but at least UK does get some low edition sized pins, unlike say WDW people who at best might be able to get LE500 traders, but mostly everything will be LE1000 or more. Maybe, there will be some in demand Brave when Merida officially becomes a Princess in June.
 
I hope there comes a time when your able to get back in to UP as I can tell you really enjoy it. But for now I wish you luck in any other pursuits. Good luck my friend.
 
As an UP collector that lives far from Disney I totally understand. I've felt the same feelings of dread and disappointment at the releases. Granted, I'm still fairly new to pin trading and there haven't been that many UP releases this past year... Anyway, I just keep telling myself that I don't need every single Up pin out there and find ways to tell myself I don't need the new ones. (Small example - the Pixar mystery box UP set is awesome. I'd LOVE to own it - but the chances, for me, are slim to none right now. But it's okay because the coloring on Russell's shirt isn't just the right color so I really don't need that one. --I know. It's silly, but whatever I can do to talk myself out of the crazy.)
Anyway. I just wanted you to know that I understand. :hug:
 
I d love to have more UP pins (fantastic film) , think its three I have at the mo but... I don t even try cos I know how hard they are to get!!!
 
Awww. I'm sorry to read this. I don't blame you. It's stressful for me sometimes even living near DSF and the park. But hey, I'm always willing to try to help you out whenever I can if you ever decide to come back to the UP family! :hug:

And you have an incredible UP collection already so kuddos to you!
 

Still hoping you may be able to help me out with the valentines day pin but if not then no worries lolol I will stop trying to get them but if people can help then they can do haha just buying them is not an option these days as people want more $$ than to help people out.
 
I know how you feel. We are also in the UK, and have given up on UP and Tangled. We have some sought after pins from both but again are not trading them away.f
 
I would never get rid of them as my partner bought a lot of them so I'd not like to see them go. I'd like to say it would be easy for me to get great trader pins at cost and to be able to trade for what I want but sadly its not the case
 
I completely understand and I second the motion of making/getting a frame for them. It didn't stop the getting new Tangled pins for me...I just got more frames...lol...but maybe that will work for you!
 
LOL I don't think the frame would help as I tried to frame them a while ago all in one and it almost came off the wall due to the weight so I'd be framing them in smaller frames and I know my luck Id have one pin to go into a new frame XD
 
It would be nice to get up pins in uk and they are asking us to help them and I will say no as when I ask for help no one offers to help me it would be nice if we could help each other out more often
 
Chin up! pin trading can be like that, one week your down, and the next your up. We just have to remember that, to get us through the bad weeks and months! I totally agree with your post though. Trading and helping others has definately declined. I'm in the same boat as you, I dont have the type of traders people are after, and I dont always have the funds to purchase. I think us UK/Irish traders feel this worst.
 
I just wanted to say that if ANYONE deserves help in getting the pins that they want, it's Danny. Some people seem to get pins at cost so easily on this Forum, whilst others are just ignored. I know that not everyone would sell their extra pin at cost, but I'm just saying that if anyone feels like doing a nice thing for a super nice guy, then this is the super nice guy you need to help! I don't want Danny to have to take a break from Up!
 

awww thanks Lindsay, looks like I am taking a break as I can't compete with the prices or have pins people want so a break be needed. it sucks though it really does.
 
I started my Up! collection during the summer of last year. It has been crazy hard to collect since I missed so many pins. I'm really excited to collect the ones that are upcoming. If you have any from the past that you would be willing to trade for the newer ones, keep me posted. btw, there are some awesome UK pins that I would be willing to trade for as well
