So after waiting anxiously for my pin to come in the mail from out of the country, I've come to the conclusion that it's a scrapper... After comparing it to the info on pinpics, the colors don't match up, the gold edge is a bit rough, and it's a bit dull with lines in the finish. AND it's supposed to be a LE 250... Ugh. And, of course, at the bottom of the stats page there's a scrapper warning that I did not see...

This is the first time I've come across a scrapper in a DPF trade, so I'm just really bummed. I did send a PM to the trader explaining the reasons why I thought it was a scrapper pin. I don't think she knew, but I told her to make sure she checks her pins that they're not scrappers before trading them out.

I guess I'm chalking it up to a learning experience... :(

Sorry about getting a scrapper! I got one last week through a PinPics trade and the other person never responded to my email. I hope your trader does and tries to make it right!

It was 69636 DS Jiminy Cricket Little Charmers Series. I added information to the pinpics stats stating what the scrapper pin looks like compared to the genuine pin. I'm hoping to hear back from the trader sometime tomorrow due to the time difference... I'm going to ask for a reverse trade.

Yikes! I have that exact pin! Going to go check to see if it's real right now!

Edit: Yep...mine's a scrapper for sure.

I have seen people at the park with three of these pins in baggies to trade. I know there are scrappers out there of this one. Sometimes I think that the scrapper alerts are not factual. Case in point the Spot light pins. The pins came from DS with flaws as I sent my first pins back for replacements but do the numbers really indicate a scrapper? I don't know. I have never seen scrappers of them when trading. I have also seen pins that are listed as unauthorized that I later see on the shelves so now I am beginning to wonder..... things that make you go hmmm! Am I dating myself...LOL?

I, too, have gotten a few scrappers while trading either here or on pinpics. I figure the person didn't realize the pin was a scrapper, at least I hope not.

Haven't seen that pin but sorry to hear about your trade.

Scrappers are definitely a minefield. When we were at WDW a few weeks ago we did trade for some low LE pins that were scrappers. I traded for a low LE Alice pin off of the Pylon in front of Big Thunder and then showed it to Scoop who confirmed it was a new scrapper.

study..... study..... study.... do ur homework and u will b able to tell most bad pins from good.

Not to say sum scrappers or fakes cant fool u sumtimes... but if u know all u can about them.. u will b the most safe

It's really disappointing, it's disappointing to get one in the parks you have been looking for, only to find out its a fake. It's even more so here or on pp. there are a few I have just come to terms of having a fake.
